It's not really fair to condemn Ciftci on the basis of his performances for us so far. He's only just arrived at the club and he doesn't even look fully fit yet. Which is perhaps not all that surprising given his domestic suspension.

What I think is absolutely fair though is to question whether we should have signed him in the first place. I don't think we should. I don't believe his ceiling as a player is that high and he lacks the mobility and work rate that Ronny Deila appears to covet. Which, as I said before, makes me wonder if it was even Ronny Deila's idea to bring him to the club.

    Seems like a bargain...

Nah, but he sums up the transfer policy. It's like why?

I was definitely in favour of this signing, hoping I've not called it wrong.

We're playing the long game with Nadir whether we like it or not now, we won't see him for a few weeks yet and it's likely to be near October by the time he's fully match sharp.

Looking forward to getting him on board properly.

I think he'll be a good one, bag a goal and I think they'll keep coming.

Very intelligent player with a lot of bite (harf-harf-harf) to boot.

Was happy enough when we signed him, he has goals in him. Just hope he can start to produce performances and keep people off his back. Won't see the best of him for a few months yet because once he is back from suspension he won't be fully match fit for a while.

No reasonable assertion of him can be made at this time.

Tomorrows the last of his 6-match ban. Time for him to step up next game.

He'll do a job domestically but as per with any striker we seem to buy nowadays question marks over his ability to do anything in Europe.

He is a good hold up player but whether he can offer much else, who knows.

I'll be honest, I have doubts about him doing it domestically for us as well. I reckon we will be lucky to get double figures in terms of goals in the league this season. Hopefully this is a post that gets used against me come the end of the season, but I've just got a feeling he isn't going to cut it here.

You could be right. However with the chances we create I'd imagine he should weigh in with a good few goals.

If I'M being honest I didn't want him here in the first place but I came round to the idea. Still not a big improvement on what we have.

I think Ciftci has something about him but so did Scep, Pukki, and Bangura. It is unfair to give up on him without a proper chance.

It is not even a case of you get what you pay for either. John Gudetti was available and he was the striker we needed. With the 1.5 fee and wages for cifiti measured against the 2m signing on fee and wages for John, it is not that much. I even * said this at the time but it was fashionable at the time to slate him so people didnt want to know.

I honestly thought we should have just went out and got Gudetti. I think he was born to put them in the net at CP on CL nights.

The problem was that because John was on a bosman, his lordship was uncomfortable giving him the remuneration required to get him here. Near enough the same was spent getting Ciftci here but the key point is that he has no problem spending the cash if it is good for his own ego. His thickness is impacting on our first team. I am amazed that most people cannot see this.

Gonny stop posting like you are in the know.

You formulate a wee scenario in your head and then pass it off as fact, it's annoying.

Hang on, are you saying it cost the same to have Ciftci at Celtic than it would have if we had managed to convince Guidetti? Surely the wages would have been on opposite sides of the spectrum?
