I don't think he would fit well into Ronny's team and his mentality, so I'd probably say no because I don't think it will work out. He is a quality player though so it would be exciting to see him back.

Haven't read the thread, however he would improve the squad, so it's a yes from me

Well if thats then what the * is someone elses irrationally exaggerated valuation on a player got to do with my opinion in a totally unrelated subject matter?
Signing Mcgeady would mean losing a significant wage chunk from our budget which may otherwise go toward another player.
I clearly stated GMS isnt of the ability mcheady WAS when he was here, maybe you need to see past ur emotional ties to the guy to realise that clubs have moved him on and he hasnt fulfilled the potential he often gave glimpses of.

As I said, the club will only sign him if his wages fit in with the current wage structure. So you can quite using that as a reason against signing him.

Aye, GMS isn't of the ability McGeady was when he was here. But he also isn't of the ability McGeady is now.

Of course the fact that it's McGeady and he was one of my favourite players means I may be somewhat biased, but I don't think I'm at all wrong in saying that he is better than GMS and Forrest. And if he's only going to cost us around £2 million then we would be silly not to try.

"Losing a significant wage chunk from our budget"

That's fine by me, at least we know we're getting proven quality, instant impact..

Or shall we just skip a player who would be top class here, for someone who we could take a gamble on, fuckit two or three gambles. Two are not long out the door and the other we can't get shot of..
    Pukki,balde and derk..

At the figures being quoted, it's a resounding yes from me..

Look man i agree, if the price and his wages are right then great. Realistically, will his wage be reasonable? Honestly cant see it. Hey, maybe i will be wrong.

I really liked him as a player also. Some of his skill was immense and i remember he was electric v Arsenal home and away when we played them in champs league qualifiers. Didnt look out of place amoungst players of that quality.

But on the down side he was a character who needed kept in check, by Strachan, Boruc and Mowbray. A move to Russia clearly signalled his intent and his priorities, especially given the teams sniffing around him at the time. Maybe im bitter.

Its a judgement call. Pros and cons. Personally, id like to see that place go to someone else. But i wouldnt be upset if you were pulling me up at the end of the season, Mcgeady having proven me wrong and you telling me I told you so.

He'd have to take a wage cut to come here, that's obvious. I have a hunch that he would though, not all are content with what they've made but mcgeady has done well, that tax free stint in Moscow will have set his family and there families up for life. He's publicly stated he wants back at some point and his Everton stint hasn't gone swimmingly. It all points to a return..
His attitude is something I've not always liked and could be a problem but he's 29 now, he has to have calmed down and matured..

It's really a no-brainer for me. McGeady would be the best player playing in Scotland.

"Instant Impact"- said like its guarenteed. In an ideal world.

I agree with ur point on pukki, balde and derk. Two of whom i believe were seriously questionable errors of judgement from the off. Balde- totally unproven, derk injury prone.

"A resounding yes"- obviously the shrewd business man. * it, give him what he wants. Again if his wage demands were fair and within reason, great. Everyone would want that. Ideal world scenario. But i wouldnt break the bank. What we have going on now is good and if we push the
boat out it will surely hav a ripple effect somewhere along the line

Didnt rate him when he was here, so no chance i would now.

Best thing he ever did for Celtic was bolster the bank balance to a silly extent.:bbpd:

Quite like him as a person from what ive heard of him, but i always though he flattered to deceive as a player.:87:

Instant impact. The guy has been here and done the lot before, he'd walk in to our team, on that left side no doubt, and be a big player, I'm convinced of it..

A resounding yes. The question was whether we want him back, no? It's a resounding yes from me, all day long. I have already stated he couldn't come here on Russian and epl wages and my hunch is that he'd drop considerably down, even better ay..

Yes, with. A few provisos; a good, low-ego attitude being chief among them.

I would love to see McGeady back at Celtic. Quality player who I think would do really well with the way we play now.

He moved to Russia at a time when a lot of very good players were, to a team challenging for titles and playing CL football. In what way does that show a lack of ambition? Woukd it not have been less ambitious to sign for a mid-table EPL club who tred water year aftet year, which is what I think you are suggesting.

Setting up more than 80 goals for us, being the only person alongside Thommo and Larsson to set up 20 goals in a seaon for us, is no end product?

How do you come to that conclusion?
