All depends how long he stays. I'll stay safe and say last 16. But when it comes to the Europa well the you can't really rule out winning it. As for comments like as far as the board will back him. Man City have spend 100s of millions and still haven't got past the last 16.

Ya it's funny that they've spent about 100 times what we have and still can't get further than us

The best we can hope for is getting into the group stages of the Champions League, with the current squad. The manager is more familiar with the club and players now, and he's strengthened, so that makes me more optimistic that we won't concede 25 goals in Europe this season coming.

Pretty much this. Take the CL money from the group stage and enter EL from there, aim for last 8 and progress each season from there.

It's significantly harder than ten years ago to win the EL but not impossible.

I hope he can get us into the groups this year. Have a decent run of games and maybe qualify for third place and Europa league. If he can keep the spine of a team together for a second run the following year, we might build momentum and qualify for the last 16 again. We need to have regular CL games over this next 5 year cycle.

Quarter finals in the CL is as far as we can get I think, but who knows, it all depends on the luck of the draw.. Our luck is usually horrendously * though.

Europa League I think we can definitely go all the way, with the luck of the draw again.. This season we were unlucky to lose to Inter. Even then, if we had beaten Inter we'd have had to beat Wolfsburg and then Napoli to make the Semi's.. Very tough route.. But If Dnipro can do it, then we certainly can.. Again!

My feeling is that he will never get out of the CL groups or past the last 32 in the EL unless he improves tactically.

Last season we were very predictable in how we set up to the point that other teams didnt even have to bother scouting us. It was always business as usual. This can be considered admirable but the truth is it is more towards naivety. As has been mentioned we are handicapped financially so we need to be smarter than our opponents to progress. Part of this is altering the shape of the team on occasion.

I think we will have our best ever away win of modern times in Europe under Ronny but over a 6 game group all I can see is hard luck storys and brave failures. We have had these before with better managers and more expensive teams so it is not a criticism of Ronny but an understanding of how unforgiving European football can be.

His switch in the sheep game last season was very encouraging. We were hanging on to a one goal lead and he brought Efe on for i think Armstrong (a wide player anyway). This was the first evidence i seen of him playing it smart and I hope he keeps learning. Still though my gut tells me that we will be glad to just take part under his reign.

    Depends on the draw really.

I mean Lenny took us all the way to Kazakhstan, don't see why Ronny couldn't do the same if the draw was right.

As long as he reads the 'sage' like advice on here and pays attention he/we will do well. I sometimes wonder how he managed before he came here.
So, if he follows this advice, I expect the super cup to be residing at CP shortly :icon_mrgreen:

I reckon Ronny can definitely, beat Lennons record in the Champions league, players look so much fitter(players under lennon weren't really fit ),his philosophy overall is paying off.

    Potential -last 16/QF of CL
    -last 16/QF/SF of EL

Why dont you try responding to the post rather than leaving a passive agressive comment like a * wee *

    Oh touchy eh :smiley-laughing002:

For the record, my post wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, however it says something you took it as being aimed at you.

    passive aggressive = * wee * :56:

Have the courage to admit who your implication was aimed at. You also tried something similar last week and it was pointed out to you that it was not me who raised the issue. If you have a problem say it. If you disagree with what I have posted then debunk it in a constructive manor rather than trying to undermine everything I write.

Ok lets have a look at the post -

Now show me how it infers you ?
Lets break it down , - 'as long as he reads the sage like advice on here' - well if we go to any matchday thread we will soon find various opinions on who should or should not be played, formation etc or am I imagining that ?

As I said "no-one in particular" but you feel free to be touchy about it.

Courage is not needed on the internet , if I wanted to call you a * cretin I would , I have done in the past, when you start your usual pish about the accounts.
Last week ? No idea what that's about although I am busy and don't keep a specific 'offended list'.
If I have a problem/disagree with anything, I don't need permission to dispute it, so don't you worry about that.
You are getting ahead of yourself now 'undermine everything you write' believe me I don't read half of the guff you post, as you usually go on about Pete/board being wrong, accounts , or something about RD being wrong at least you have back tracked from him being out of his depth. (or words/posts to that effect).
So me undermining you is not needed, nor indeed is it needed from anyone, as your posts do that job perfectly well :50:
