I'd feel a thousand times more confident going into Europe with Hooper then the thumb he might not be "world class " but he was an excellent striker especially for a team of are level

Hooper didnt do it in Europe to be fair. Spartak Moscow? Good. That doesn't make him proven. JVoH and McDonald were more proven.

Sure he has more European goals for us than McDonald.

I could be proven wrong here but, If memory serves me right, did McDonald not score more crucial goals for us in Europe?

You're right. McDonald got 5 in Europe and Hooper got 7.

Hooper was a far better all round player than McDonald, it's not even close in my opinion. Between McGeady & Hooper, I would go for Hooper. A striker like Hooper is higher up the priority list than a player like McGeady at the minute in my opinion.

    I voted None.

Was never a great fan of McGeady.

We know what Hooper can do but he might not be as motivated as he was before.

After hearing how badly McGeady played last season I'm not sure I'd even want him back.

Some say Ronaldo is a more all round player than Messi. Doesn't make him better than him.

I don't know. It's hard to gauge. You make a good point about Hooper not having a 'Larsson' quality partner, but also you have to bear in mind that the SPL was a lot stronger in Sutton and Hartson's day, and that Rangers were much better back then as well.

Am with you. A don't agree Ronaldo is a better all round player I'd say that was Messi. Better dribbler, passer, movement, final pass, team player and link up play.

But a know people who say Ronaldo's the better all rounded footballer but Messi was still the better player.

And that's what a was getting at when a replied to your post, just because Hooper was a better footballer doesn't mean he was a better player.
