Regarding the youths. I thought Tierney was alright, but again just can't see him ever being up to our standard(he's young though, so who knows). Henderson was decent, a class or two above anything that replaced him anyway. I actually thought out of the players who came on, O'Connell looked the best.

 

Tierney still has to fill out, too skinny and lightweight still built like an under 19 player. Henderson actually looked like a real player now where as last year he like Tierney looked too skinny and light.

 

How was Donnelly?

People moan like * why you get sky pundits like Walker et al, and then moan like * when you get non-professionals and Celtic fans like Boyd.

Is he REALLY that bad a commentator? How? He just calls it as he sees it? I don't see how he is THAT bad to deserve the levels of vitriol he get from some people on here.

It's nuts. But I also think it one of those things that catches fire on here ie "oh aye it's Boyd again, what a *, better get on the boards and complain because I know some others do that." It's become one of those mental ticks with folks, Like the "Bitton's a shitebag" phrase which was never mentioned previously, then was repeated every third post for about a month after he was perceived to shirk a tackle, and then never said again since.

People just repeat what they hear.

 

He almost scored after a neat 1-2 with Henderson, but was quiet most of the time. Obviously you can only see so much on a stream, so you don't see most of his movement.

Just saw the goals there and noticed Gary's definitely been in the gym over the summer. Pigeon chest.

 

Anywhere to watch even the highlights?

 

Didn't get to see the game but sounded like it was a good workout. Glad to hear the team are looking sharp too, how often have we spoken about how overweight this player is and how rusty that player looks, in pre-season friendlies in previous years. Ronny has them well drilled.

Also good to hear Rogic had a good game, I reckon if we can get him to his potential he'd be like a new signing (cliche, I know but) he'd be well able to deputise around the middle of the park for injured / resting players and would add a bit of flair. Much better option than bringing in someone like Scott Allan.

By the way, is this our only friendly before our 1st CL qualifier or do we have another game in between?

 

Was pretty good, should of scored but had some good movement and link ups, needs to hit the gym though got pushed off the ball a lot but he's still young and looks quite promising.

 

We play Dukla Prague on Saturday and Real Sociedad next Friday before the first leg against Stjarnan.

Boyd is not the Commentator he is the pundit, there to express his views on what's in-front of him; answer questions put to him by the Commentator
Put across the differences from his time at Celtic to what's happening today and give little insights of being a player in the situation.

As a pundit he is fine and who pay for Celtic TV don't mind him as a matter of fact I quite like that its him our captain from the team that stopped the scum 10 IAR is more than welcome to earn his living telling me how we did it I can listen to that sort of punditry every day.

 

Spot on. Met him two weeks ago in the airport and he couldn't have done enough for folk comin up for photos and autographs. Also, he puts Provan, Nicholas, Walker etc to shame with their pandering to the Orcs. He's just a Celtic fan and doesn't mind tellin them 'they're died'. For this, he can stutter all he wants.
