American MLS

I am curious is this a well respected soccer league worldwide? Everyone on television saids they have the best player in the world now in David Beckham. I have never talked to a friend of mine who likes soccer or any of my teammates who say he is good. So I am confused. Do you think hes good? what leagues would you say are better than the MLS?

Lol! Nobody over here really gives a * about the MLS tbh. Have to say though, occasionally I see the odd kid wearing an L.A Galaxy strip with Beckham on the back, of course.

 

The MLS is * mate. Trust me. Sure its balanced and every club has a chance. But they dont match on par with most leagues.

And Beckham. Hes just a celebrity who kicks a good dead ball kicks.

They have a lot of has been good players. With exception of Becks who is still world class imo. Half decent football but all about attacking any other league within reason would have a feild day against the defences and the format is * up, becks dosent play again for 6months or something ?

 

The MLS is *. Nuff said. Vancouver might get a team, I don't know if I would go to any games unless Celtic come over, but other than that, not interested at all.

 

the mls is a good reason why hardly anyone in the US likes the sport.......its boring....no one has a clue how to execute a "set piece" play, free kicks, corners......all terrible(at least the games i watch). plus its kinda hard to get into a sport that is played in front of half full stadiums, on a good day. the only team in the league with good support isnt even in the US, and they suck (toronto fc).

 

no you don't. first it's football, not soccer...second of all beckham is * celebrety not football player anymore, and third...no one gives a * about mls.

Who cares about this MLS.. I hate this league... they have no fans!No ultras, no casual.. what are we talking ? and "soccer" only in america saying "soccer"... it's football

 

america wil never call it football. our version of football is too big......just the way it is

soccer is derived from the word association. Football association. Just to let you know and it came from Britain.

im not saying we SHOULDNT call soccer football......im saying we WONT call it football. b/c too many people over here know football as the sport with helmets and pads, not shorts and knee high socks

 

I call it Football for it is the real football. The NFL and the CFL are * stupid.

 

I saw NFL few times...and they play most of the game with their hands, while we play football with our legs and it's not allowed to play with hands like NFL...so it's stupid to call NFL football, rugby is played with legs more than NFL and they still have their own name....you should find new name for NFL))))))

 

Its tradition here. Its the largest sport with at least 200-250 million fans in the US . They would never change the name. Would make bad business sense. Who knows how it got started that way. It is evolved from many games.

 

i agree that it makes no sense to call it football. we should change the name......but its just not gonna happen. sorry mate.

Those Italians call it Calcio, what a bunch of idiots. And as far as MLS, maybe it's because I'm a DC fan, but I would say that the support and level of play is a lot better than what you think it is. I'm not saying it's Prem or Old firm level, but it's developing into a solid league. You all just have the embarassment of the league, LA Galaxy, shoved down your throats because of the whole Becks thing so I can't really hold it against you that you have such a poor opinion.
