Its the foundation of a good team, and hes young, you'd make more back. Its hypothetical. It was only 7 up front, And im sure we'd pay less. They up'd the price cos they were selling to the EPL.

Well i don't see any likely options in the SPL other than the rumoured deal for the Dundee Utd keeper, but i don't know if he is being lined up as a back-up.

Do any of the bhoys from other countries have any decent suggestions (ie less than 5m)?

 

Celticpoland.com says Szamotulski (POL, Dundee utd) is linked with Celtic. What is more Craig Levein, DUtd manager informed that Szamotulski missed last game because he is leaving the club.

Szamotulski is not the same class as Boruc. He'd be great option for backup, nothing more...

I'd like to see Fabianski in our goal. He's fantastic young keeper, he was Legia no 1 goalie after Artur moved to Glasgow. Some people say he's even better than Boruc or he'll be soon.

Unforunately I can't see us buying him from Arsenal

Jussi Jaaskelainen fae Bolton. Don't know about a sell on fee though as he's 32. Ben Foster's another one but he could be expensive plus it could put an end to his England career before it's started.

If he does go (hopefully for 10mill+ ) I think Sorensen from Villa (whos set to leave) probably for nothing too. Nowhere near Borucs' class but a lot of top level experience. Also with the money hopefully could get that Dundee United polish guy. Him and Sorensen would cost next to nowt.

Still I'd rather Boruc sees out the next 2 years and he goes for nothing than let him leave now

 

I know it's hard to see top players leave mate but I really hope the days of us letting players see out there contracts are over.

We should be begining negotiations with players at least 18 months before there deal is up and if we can't get them signed up then sell them.

In Artur's case, if we do get top dollar for him we WILL be able to afford a replacement just as good. I would rather we didn't have to go down that route as you run the risk of whoever it is not settling etc. It won't be the end of the world if he does go though.

 

Was thinking of him myself. Arsenal want Boruc and probably realise they'll need to fork out £££ to get him. Celtic might be willing but will want to make sure they have someone of quality coming the other way. Boruc one way, Fabianski with a few pennies our way.

 

That would be nice. I hope it's an attainable option...

 

If Boruc leaves and I pray that he doesn't, but if he does there are two YOUNG keepers that come to mind.

One has been mentioned. Schmeichel isn't getting the time on the pitch he was early on for Man City - when he has gotten a chance he has played well.

The second is a young U.S. keeper, Chris Seitz. He may have some WP issues because he hasn't been capped with the senior team behind Freidel and Howard - but the kid has tons of promise and would free up money for ummmm... DEFENSE

 

Schemeichel is mince thats why he dosent play anymore and is on loan to cardiff, he started off good but then his weaknesses shone through.
