Agreed. Too much political correctness in this thread.

He might be that type of player that you need to play every game to ensure he keeps his head in the game and not have any lapses in concentration. He'll definitely learn from his mistakes today.

After about 9 years at City I feel that Boyata should be able to pass the ball with some confidence and concentrate for the whole game.

Owen Coyle (Bolton's manager during Boyata's loan spell) says he thinks that Boyata has good technique and says that he wouldn't have been at City for so long if he didn't have.....I hope he's right....I'm hoping he gets a bit of confidence and relaxes on the ball without switching off as he did today.

players who make mistakes like the two Boyata made should explain what the * they were thinking in the papers instead of delivering soundbites...

maybe the fact that they know they will have to come on celtic tv etc and explain themselves will help them keep concentration... instead of thinking how they will spend their win bonus

we will learn from this blah blah blah,, we will cut out these mistakes blah blah blah.. these guys are meant to be professional footballers not a bunch of noobs learning the basics

The boy will improve once he plays with ambrose. At that time he'll * himself and realise he's to concentrate or efe will let them in as VD isn't there to cover.

Stupidest thing I've heard on here, and that's saying something...
If i * up at work i don't have to send an email to all the other employees and shareholders to explain what I did and why. I get pulled aside by my boss, some words are had and we move on.
A young lad, new to the team/setup, who's playing more football now than at any time makes a couple of silly mistajes and changes the scoreline to slightly less favourable and you want the Spanish Inquisition... cop on!

Boyata isn't good enough. Them two mistakes could be very costly at the end of the season if it goes to goal difference. Although we'll need a bit of luck to even get that after dropping points at Killie. Not looking good for the season ahead. When Liewell sells VVD to get his bonus we'll be no better than St. Mirren. £100m from the CL in the last 6 months and we're buying players from the Scottish 2nd division. And Boyata, how much did he cost us? Nothing. Free. Its obvious why.

Didn't Boyata cost us a million quid or something? Still, you're correct. The guys not shown in the past that he has what it takes to fit the criteria we look for (raw talent, someone we can bring along then sell for a good few million down the road).

Not good enough? We're in August and he'll be just fine. I take it this is the latest bandwagon people are jumping on. He's the reason we're two games away from qualifying for the Champions League. He'll make mistakes but to say he's not good enough after a few games is crazy.

In the SPFL, a lack of concentration can be forgiven 'cause there's always another game; in Europe, that's not the case. As we saw with Qarabag, one goal can be the difference.

I'm still of the opinion that he's a good player lacking sharpness and will come good, but I will be wary when we play Malmo on Wednesday.

Well, people like me are simply going on what we've actually seen from him thus far, whilst people like you are saying "he'll be just fine", which is pure conjecture, isn't it?

Aye, he's scored a couple of goals, and he may eventually come good, but based on his performances so far? I don't think it looks all that promising.

I know he's bearing the brunt of yesterday's last 20 minutes but as a team, we were shocking. I think that was due to Brown and Lustig going off. Our midfield disappeared and ICT seemed to cause us problems down the right hand side.

Boyata has looked solid for me apart from a few wee mistakes. I'm confident they'll be ironed out as he's given more game time.

Really? I can't agree there at all. As I said, I hope he comes good, but thus far I've not really been impressed.

Boyata needs games to sharpen up and he needs to work on his passing like a lot of players coming here he probably believes that the games are easy as the standard of football is poor he is learning the hard way that you don't get time on the ball.

He played very well In Qarabag. I think his concentration lets him down in the less important games, but this is his first time really playing first team football, in 3 months he will be a much better player.

He is good, I don't think he is used to the pace of the Scottish game and how we always need to be on our toes.
