Goalie problem? - Maybe Dudek?

Jerzy Dudek wants to find new club becouse Live bougt Reina! Would you like to see him in your goal? He would cost about 2-3 mln pounds so its not so much money for the Cup winner . He is brilliant when he feels no pressure and fans love him I think that in Celtic wont be problem with that . He has about 4 years of brilliant playing becouse he is 32. I would love to see him in Celtic goal and Zuraw on field. Come on Celtic go for Jerzy!!!

 

no offence to our polish lads, but i dont fancy dudek...he makes too many mistakes, we need a very reliable keeper.

 

Maline, its good to see you have a sense of humour! the guys a dud! i think we'llstick with Hedman if you dont mind! Nah, no offence but the fella cant come out for crosses the best and is very unreliable, Boruc should be a better option.

 

In fact Dudek is much better than this cocky Boruc but ok its your opinion

 

well im afraid we shouldnt touch Boruc with a 20 foot bargepole if hes worse than dudek.

With Dudek the goalie problem would only go deeper! The guy has his "moments" when he makes a few good saves, but he otherwise makes them too often. I'd go fer Bogdan Lobont, from Ajax. What do yeh guys say?

erm, i think your only sayin that cos hes Romanian Mac Danny! TBH i havny seen very much of him but he had good stats on champo manager. oh scrap that, remember Walter Smith signed Alex Nyarko for Everton purely based on his Champo stats and look what happened there. is he startin for Ajax? i remember he was No2 for a while.

I'm sorry, but I agree with nearly everyone else, Dudek is definately not he keeper for celtic. Maline makes the point himself above - i can't think of any time when the celtic keeper wont be under pressure! What happened to the talk about Niemi?

I don't think age is such a problem with keepers, for instance Klos is 33 and not too bad. The problem I have with Dudek is that he's v erratic and I think the celtic fans now deserve a goal keeper who doesn't have us * ourselves at every corner or when the ball is passed back to them.

 

I pretty much agree, mate. But after the exceed their prime, their awareness and reaction times get worse, so I think age does matter when looking for goalies it just depends on the goalie and if he's past it or not.

 

True. I still don't think we should rule out someone of that age, who could still do us a job. It is definately a hard balancing act trying to get a keeper with experience, that costs hee haw.

 

Would rather see Niemi or Boruc than Dudek.
He is prone to costly lapses in concentration, and knowing Celtic's luck with goalies all of his negatives would come back to haunt us.
Ideally Boruc should be the number one choice, yes I agree that goalies can play longer so age shouldn't be a concearn, but if Boruc is as good as people claim, he could be at Celtic for the next 10 years.

 

I can assure you Boruc is much more reliable, never had a crisis like Dudek and can handle pressure.
