As most of you already know we have sent a statement to the SFA regarding that shocking decision not to give a stonewall penalty against Inverness on Sunday. The Letter reads:

"With the club being inundated today, Celtic can confirm that it has written to the SFA regarding yesterday’s match and in particular the incident involving Leigh Griffiths and Josh Meekings.

"First and foremost we absolutely congratulate Inverness Caledonian Thistle on reaching the Scottish Cup Final. They are a fantastic club and reaching the final is a great achievement.

"However, given the level of reaction from our supporters and across football, we are duty bound to seek an understanding of what actually happened.

"We have not been given any other specific explanation so far and this is simply to understand the circumstances of what went on and why such an obvious error was made."

Wanted to see what you guys think will be the realistic response from the SFA and also what action if any should be taken? Its most likely the SFA will come out and back there referees or its even more likely they wont even reply at all. Give thoughts on what you think will be said/done and also what you think should be said/done by the huns at the helm.

Steven Mclean was clearly not unsighted.

The statement will be along the lines of:

We have accepted the word of the officials that they did not clearly see the incident, and despite the plethora of evidence on view there will be no retrospective action taken against Josh Meekings or the referee for their blatant cheating.

They'll give us some bollocks about the ref having a difficult job, not being able to be 100% sure, etc., we all know he cheated but there's no way to prove it definitively so nothing will come of it. The SFA will gloss over it and the ref will carry on as normal despite this being at the very best rank incompetence, the like of which none of us would ever get away with in our jobs.

    Sweet * All.

Simple as that. What have they ever done in the past?

The refs have the best job on the planet. They can do what they want and nobody can question them because they'll be fined, or have to sit in the stands. Doubt they'll take any action. I'd be very surprised if we get so much as an apology.

    Sit down and shut up.

That will be the crux of their response.

Surely even hte neutrals will see how imcompetent the SFA are if they include quotes like “Steven could see through the gap in play as the game unfolded but there was a millisecond, a click of the fingers when his view was not 100%. You need to be absolutely certain and if you’re not then you shouldn’t give it.” from John Fleming in their official response. If the guy cant see that then he should not be aloud to referee a game of that magnitude for sme time.

Has the SFA ever punished fined or demoted their referees before?

I'm sure it was Steve Conroy who quit after being taken off top level matches without an explanation.

I like the fact the club has said well to Cally Thistle. Shows class. Obviously that REF needs to be disciplined for the game changing "mistake" he made.
Hope that we can regroup and secure the double.

The ref of the st patricks day massacre never refereed again, or never a derby match anyway.

Simulation anywhere on the pitch under SFA rules is an automatic 2 game ban so Josh Meekings should be banned like Derk was no ?
