    £8m for Stokes?

Honestly one of the worst things I've read on here. We'd be doing extremely well to get a quarter of that.

I agree with sentiment of what your saying but £8m is a bit much. We should hold out for over £3m though.

Problem is that clubs will probably know we're looking to sell him and therefor will be hoping to get him cheap.

If Stokes didnt have his perceived off field problems he'd probably fetch about £4m, but with them we'd be doing great to get £3m. Even with all the money flying around he's not someone who is going to capture peoples imaginations.
For me, I'd sell for near £3m, nothing less than £2.5m.

That's a good point and I agree with it. The problem is clubs won't pay that much for players like Stokes in Scotland.

Stokes has scored or assisted 142 goals in 144 starts. His record for us is fantastic and often overlooked. He's worth far more than the £1m fees suggested on here.

    I'd rather have McCormack, easily.

Braaheid played in a World Cup final, doesn't mean he's any good.

Young?! He's 27 this month. Stokes will never go for 8 million.

We need to use the 'free market' to our advantage. By doing this, we attempt to cause inflation in the Scottish game.

Stokes is a perfect example of how we could start this. There is no way we need to sell him like was the case for Wanyama and Forster cause they wanted to leave. We should tout that price and if no club wants to pay that then we keep a good quality, proven player as Stokes is, so there is no worry. It is a WIN WIN situation. We should set a high price so that players like Virjil will then fetch £15, 16, 17 million by this inflation.

I think we'd be lucky to get more than 1.5 million, if even that

I have a feeling that Braafheid is a better player than his form here suggests

Of course they won't because the english clubs still have the massive chip on their shoulders. Plenty of good players come from Scotland and are proven players in England (as have our managers). The problem is we are selling them on for pittens and not capitalising, hence, portraying this view of a small league.

We should be using the Eredivise as our barometer.

their is no way an english club is going to pay more than 2.5 million for him, look at his scoring record down there he completely flopped which is why sunderland were willing to sell him to hibs for half a million. his record in europe and internationally is also nothing to get excited about

their seems to be some bitterness amongst our fans about english clubs undervaluing our players, the thing to remember is that we essentially do the same thing to other leagues, johansen and lustig cost around £2 million each despite being great players

Him playing against Morton said it all for sure. Ronny has told him to find a club. Look back a few years and him and Hooper were looking like £5M/6M/7M/8M+ players. Stokes record of 142 Goals/Assists in 144 games is unreal.
Sadly Ronny wants' to go another way. With Nadir Çiftçi and Janko coming in that makes right wing and up top alone harder for Stokes. Ciftci has probably pushed Armstrong wide, with Janko and GMS and Forrest battling the right side. We have a LOT of players for every position, players like Lustig who could operate at Right Back and Centre Back and Johansen who can play behind a striker, left or right or beside Brown in a deeper position. There are more permutations, like GMS as the last man up top, a position I think he would get us a ton of goals
This is all proving Stokes is going. Shame really, did he ever get a full run at things as a striker under Ronny?
#HH Stokes, if you do leave.

What do you mean by the bolded part? Do you see Armstrong as a striker? I've seen a few posts floating about referring to Armstrong as if he's a striker.
