£6million to an EPL team is like £1million to us.

Fulham paid £5million for Scott Parker when he was 32. Think Spurs paid £2million for Brad Friedel when he was about 38 lol.

EPL Teams will pay £6million for a good experienced player even if they are 30 knowing they will only get 2/3/4 seasons out them and no money back.

Like Sunderland for example, you wouldnt be suprised if they bid £6million for Brown in the summer. To them thats really nothing although if we bid even £3million for someone whos 30 we'd be going nuts on here wondering whats happening and EPL fan wouldnt even bat an eyelid. To get a good EPL player at a decent age say 25/26 costs about £10-12million.

That's a lot closer to what i'd value the team. People have GMS at 4-5m and he's only just signed for 250k and played about 5 games..

Aye, but those were players both proven in the EPL. As * as it is, if they haven't played in England they won't be rated as highly.

We have some folk living in the real world on here, great to see. Some other folk are simply delusional though.

£11 Million for Johansen. £5 Million for Gordon. £6 Million for Biton.

Get your head out the clouds. I pray for sanity sake those figures were quoted to spark debate.

Transfermarkt is a terrible source for valuation. They had Wanyama at 4.4 million when we sold him for almost three times as much

Please stop using transfermarkt for valuation of our players, they are always way off with us.

He was saying the clubs value those amounts differently because they value them based on their own income. He wasn't comparing their absolute value, surely that was obvious?

I agree with most of the estimations. They are realistic.

Wanyama's transfer was simply holding the inflated BPL to ransom.

VVD is not a 10M player but we'll sell him to that league for that price.

Matter of fact, players in our league are valued less because we are a in poor league. Stick us in the BPL and you can double the price of every player instantly.

Though we do well to get as much as we do for our players, the more we sell player for high prices, the higher we can continually value our players.

I feel now more than ever Celtic are finally getting the the amounts we are due for the players we are selling .. Wanyama Forster Hooper ect we received in my opinion very fair amounts. I think now English teams (excluding the big 6 of course) are more inclined to look up north first for young upcoming talent rather than taking a punt on a young south American player. If mid level English teams were to come calling for Johansen Van * or Bitton i truly believe Lawwell can demand the amounts suggested. If you have a good season in the championship for example and your under the age of 24 no one would blink an eye if 10m was to offered by a mid level English Premier league side so why isit so hard to believe that Johansen proven at international level and potentially going to be the player of the year of a treble winning Celtic side couldn't go for £10m + this summer ??

Easily a 60k squad at least in today's market! No debate about it!

These are the prices I think it would take to make us sell not necessarily what teams would be willing to pay for them.
Whether or not the value is accurate or if they are worth it is a different story. Every player is worth exactly how much a club needs him or are willing to pay for/sell him.
Also taking into account that some players have just recently signed or renewed contracts so their asking price would be higher than if they were nearing the end of their contract.

    (Compared to the OP)

    C. Gordon - £5m £5m (would be mad to sell for anything less)
    L. Zaluska - £0

    A. Mathews - £3m £2.5m
    E. Izaguirre - £2m £2.5m (maybe even more considering our lack of other choices at LB)
    E. Ambrose - £1m £3m (especially with VVD and Denayer likely leaving soon)
    V. van Dijk - £10 £10m (will get offered and will be accepted this summer)
    C. Mulgrew - £500k £2m (good utility player we don't need to sell)
    D. Fisher - £250k £500k
    E. O'Connell - £100k £250k
    M. Lustig - £1.5m £3m (injuries aside, he is still a top quality RB)

    N. Bitton - £6m (Agree with OP as the board will see the prospect of his value rising over another season or 2 so won't let him go cheaply at this stage)
    S. Brown - £6m (Maybe not worth 6m to another club but no way would we let him go for anything less, there would be riots)
    D. Boerrigter - £750k £0k (would gladly just give him away)
    S. Armstrong - £4m (about right. just signed, not going anywhere cheap)
    K. Commons - £500k £1m (again, new contract, won't let him go for less than a mil)
    G. Mackay-Steven - £3.6m £4m (just signed, not going anywhere cheap)
    T. Rogic - £100k (not sure of his contract situation and couldn't be arsed checking, either way, not going to get any more than £100k for him)
    S. Johansen - £11m £7m (maybe worth more but could see Lawwel's eyes light up at a £7m offer)
    C. McGregor - £500k
    J. Forrest - £1m
    L. Henderson - £750k £1.5m (still unproven but I reckon he will be given a chance so won't be leaving at this stage for less than £1.5m)
    A. Stokes - £1m £2m (good squad player who we don't need to sell but a £2m offer would be snapped up by the board)
    S. Scepovic - £1m £2.2m (just signed a 4 year (?) contract this year so I can't see him been let go for less than we paid for him)
    L. Griffiths - £3m £2m (Proven SPL quality but no SPL side could afford him, not done it on a bigger stage yet so would struggle to find attract clubs down south. if we got a good striker in this summer, he'd fall down the pecking order imo.)
    Players out on loan :

    A Balde - £800k
T Pukki - £1.2m (take it and run)
D McGeouch - £150k £250k (if Hibs get promoted we could get an even better price for him)
    H Fridjosson - £100k

So looking at a total of around £68m.

Suprised at the amount of negativity around the values of some players ... think i seen someone write that Armstrong has went down 500k in value since joining :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002::38:
