I don't think people actually overrate him, it's more a case of people seeing the potential in him.

There are definitely aspects of his game that need improving and he definitely needs to add consistency but he's only 22 ffs, he can only get better. He has shown in spells that he has real quality, do you honesty disagree with that?

Well, I'd like to have someone who can put the ball in the back of the net. Especially at home.

Yes, I'll give you that, Guidetii is better at holding the ball up. But that's just because he has presence and is a big boy. But that's not a reason for playing him and you can certainly play one up top against decent teams with joy with a striker who isn't big.

The best part of Griffith's game, and where he absolutely trumps Guidetti, is his movement. That's why he's scoring headers when he's the smallest guy on the park. He's also quick.

I'm really really sorry, but it's the only example I.can think of atm, but when the huns reached the UEFA cup final they used Novo up top on his own and he got some joy. Now Griffiths is far far superior to that wee * rat, but you get the jist.

I've seen it all now, comparing a Scottish championships defensive set up to Inter Milan's.

    How's the coaching career going?

But yeah, I think playing a striker scoring goals is a good idea.

Potential is all well and good, but we're talking about right now.

I dont KNOW anything , nobody does. This whole forum is based on speculating and making assessments and predictions . I think it is fair to say Inter wont be leaving alot of space in behind for any striker to run into, the lone striker in this game will need to have different skills that in an spl game . He isnt going to be able to run onto a straight thirty yard ball without any pressure the way griffiths did in the first minute last weekend when he scored. Inter will be better organised and will play a batter offside trap that will make Griffiths less effective , and would better suit Guidettis qualites, imo . What is it you dont understand ?

:smiley-laughing002: just no . Guidetti makes far more intelligent , superior runs . If you cant recognise that you haven't been watching .

    Yes it's frustrating as *.

I think that's an attitude issue though. He's not getting picked and he's gone in the huff. Against the huns, he came on and couldn't be arsed. Just wanted to get in a few fights.

He was never going to score that hat trick we were all promised.

Thing is he might actually turn it on for Inter because it's against Inter and not Ross County or whoever. Which will kind of * me off.

    * yes actually, if Guidetti bags a few and plays really well that's my excuse. He only tries hard against the big teams and he can't be arsed against wee SPL opposition. * sorted.

Right, I'm going to pretend you didn't say this for the good of my sanity.

I suggest you delete this as well.

People said that he'd turn up for the Newco Rangers game as it was a semi final, a lot of people would be watching, it was a sell out.

He came on and did * all, and is now being made a mockery of by the most * club in world football for blabbering on about how he'd rocket in a hat trick against them.

Because people said Griffiths wouldn't be able to 'get in behind' their defence as they'd play 10 men behind the ball, but he did.

So people shouldn't be so quick to claim he won't be able to get behind Inter Milan's defence.

Just start watching Guidetti . Plays on the shoulder of the centre back and is on the move the second we win the ball in midfield , unfortunately for him the passes haven't been coming fast enough (noticed it a few times) . The only striker i have seen at Celtic in a long time that bends his runs properly the way top strikers do .

People aren't claiming he wont be able to get in behind Inters defence because they have ten men behind the ball . They are saying it because they will be faster and better organised, and will most likely not allow a straight ball through the middle or over the top undo them . ( the type of ball Biton played for Griffiths goal at the weekend ) .

I'm saying people shouldn't be so quick to doubt him.
