Was excited about him joining us as always felt he was a standout every time we played United. Clearly not playing in his favoured central midfield position but I feel that can no longer be used to mitigate his below par performances.

He has been struggling all season but his performances in the last 2 games have been nothing short of pathetic - no urgency, desire and real lack of quality.

Looks a shadow of his former self, too slow and laborious - much like the rest of the team recently to be fair.

Must be dropped in favour of others for a spell

Of course it can. Being played out of position doesn't suddenly stop being a handicap just because you've been doing it for a long time.

Armstrong isn't a world beater but he sure as * is a better player than he looks just now. Putting him in a position that leads to him spending a lot of time out on the left wing is just selling the boy out. He isn't comfortable there.

Ronny Deila is to blame for his complete collapse in form.

I'm not saying because he has being doing it for a long time that this excuses it. It's the absolute lack of quality shown in recent games which cannot be excused. He is a midfielder , so should be able to play in a midfield position to a certain standard - no excsues for the standard of the last 2

I am all for giving him a chance centrally as it's clearly his best position but no way can you blame Ronny completely for his loss of form.

Players play out of position all the time - we are not asking a striker to play in goals here

I feel a bit sorry for him. Doesn't look comfortable playing the position he is in. Would like to see him get a shot playing centrally. I felt when we signed him and GMS it was to the detriment of the players we had at the club like Henderson and McGregor and nothing I have seen since has made me change my mind

    This.

I don't rate Armstrong at all but thought he started well yesterday, played a few clever passes. That was mostly it though.

No every player we sign will make the grade, especially not domestically.

Don't think he was *, just mundane and uninspiring.

Never thought much of him when he was at Dundee UTD but at first he looked good when he came, then was good against Inter but since then hes proved hes just average. Defo out his depth.

It's a big jersey to fill. Not everyone is cut out.

No ill feeling towards the lad, he will still make a career in the game at a half decent level.

He's clearly lacking confidence , he's been played out of position and if he's guilt of anything it's for not telling Ronnie he Doesnt like playing on the left. He can't be judged until he gets a run in the centre but I agree he should be dropped from the left slot he is playing in . It's destroying his confidence, he's no form and the fans are on his back , he knows that

This time last year I was shouting for Gordon Strachan to get him into the Scotland squad or even the team... I now understand why Strachan didn't and hasn't even included him in a squad yet lol.

Hope he's not playing today... needs a lengthy rest and rethink.

What he needs is to earn his place by working his backside off. He was handed his chance unfairly which is not good for anyone. He is also hindered by the fact that he is playing on the left wing. If he was going to play on any wing he would be more suited to the right hand side in an old 442 as a hard working right midfielder and I wouldnt play him there either. Like Callum McGregor he is not creative enough to play in our bank of three so he needs to learn how to grind like there's no tomorrow and work to earn a place in the bank of two.

He shouldn't be playing but I'm noy going to propery judge him until he gets a run in the middle of the park.

Was talking to a couple of Dundee United fans a couple of weeks ago at a party and they couldn't believe that we actually play him as a left winger.
