I preffered the Queen Mum. Anyone who drinks gin while asking her servant to shoot squirrels who were annoying here while picknicking under a tree at Balmoral gets my vote for sheer lunacy.

On January 30, 1972, soldiers from the British Army's 1st Parachute Regiment opened fire on unarmed and peaceful civilian demonstrators in the Bogside, Derry, Ireland, near the Rossville flats, killing 13 and wounding a number of others. One wounded man later died from illness attributed to that shooting.
The march, which was called to protest internment, was "illegal" according to British government authorities. Internment without trial was introduced by the British government on August 9, 1971. And she gave them a medal for it * her dont like england a dont like there government and a dont like her .. my opinion :shamrock:

Respect?...Why exactly? She became "queen" due to luck of birth. In my opinion the royal family are nothing but an extinct murderous, lying, institutionly racist bunch of pointless leeches that have no place in modern day society. * bless the pope.

I`m not worried. I quite like the Queen. She reminds me of my gran. They`re born on the same day.

If the Queen was the one making rules and laws etc in this country then I`d have issue with it as she wasn`t elected, but she`s basically a diplomat. And I understand she`s fairly good at it. So I have no issue with her or the monarchy in general.

As for her coming to Celtic Park? I`d * love it if she pronounced it the best stadium in the country. Huns would feckin top themselves.

    Is this really necessary?

I'm not sure whther you're American or Irish, but it doesn't mean you have a right to call my country 'evil'. But Ireland and American have caused their own fair share of trouble and wrong-doings in the past. No country is clean. I don't see what your problem is, hopefully you're not another blind racist.

    bit harsh.
i reckon you would see what country he comes from just by his name and hating the british establishment doesnt make him a racist, the history of his country ensures he feels this way about it,if you knew any of the history of ireland you wouldnt make such stupid questions/:47:

i think all this talk is rubbish we are a sporting club with a stadium that has been deemed the best in glasgow and chosen to host the opening cerimony we should be glad of that. be4cause of this fact we are likey to be given a grant to make it bigger as well.

all this talk about 'evil' ect is rediculas. do we need to hate every german, french, spanish american, japanese because of wars that have happened in the past?

and as somenoe rightly pointed out the queen is a figure head she doesnt make decisions. time to grow up and move on peeps

If we agree that CP can be used in the games then we have to accept that the head of the monarchy will attend as they are head of the Commonwealth.

IMO it's an opportunity for us to show we have moved on while TFOD have not.

As I said before, I don't hate the queen, just what she stands for.
Hating people you don't know is pointless.
My brother thinks Robert Mugabe is a * hero for kicking the whites, who stole the land from the native people in the first place, out.
He is really in to politics and some of his politics are very extreme and although I disagree with a lot of his views, I still defend his right to those views. People think he mad but he ain't heavy. He's my brother and I love him to bits, but he * hates the queen with a vengeance and I don't see the point.

Although I count myself as a socialist I don't know how I'd feel if we had a king or queen of Scotland.
Maybe it's my love of the common people that makes me think that all priviliged folks live in a fantasy world whilst the reat of us are living on a prayer.

As far as Lizzy coming to Celtic Park, I couldn't give a fiddler's fart. It'll wind them * up at Morden big style, so it's no problem for me.

Well, I wasn't sure where he was from since his location is USA.

I wasn't calling him racist at all, I was saying that I hope he isn't. I know alot of Irish history, which is the reason I made that statement in the first place. He basically called me country 'evil' which is rubbish, and from what I've learned it's not like Ireland has never done a thing wrong.

I wasn't being harsh, I was basically stopping people turning this into a 'I hate England and it's monarchy' thread.

I personally have nothing against Scotland or Ireland, anything past wars or encounters between the countries are in the past. I enjoy the rivalry between the countries when it comes to football and respect them both as countries.

I think what MartyC posted is very accurate. We can't hate everyone because on previous doings!
