why is it a 12.30 kick off if its on a wednesday?

know its a bit early but really bugged me when i saw it

 

Less drinking time - pure and simple.

 

i love the new year old firm games always a good atmosphere * off at the kick off time though.

 

its at half 12 becase the pubs only open at 12

 

probably because the other games are 3pm kick offs so they aren't allowed to clash

 

i thought that it would have been a 7.45 kick off though with it being on a wednesday?

 

aye but its the 2nd of january so most places wont be working

 

Had me worried at first but im off from classes for Christmas break. So w/e.

 

Pubs can open at usual time mate.
The half 12 rule only apply's to Sundays.

It's still the holiday period. All the old new year games kicked off in the afternoon. Never in the evening.

 

usually in town for the OF new year game ...not this year,(

 

i've had to beg for the night off work so i can get as pished as i usualy am on these occasions

I'm * off with the early k.o. too though, because I was hoping to bring a few of my friends along to my CSC to watch it before I head back to uni, but I doubt they'll be too keen at the early k.o

 

The 2nd of January is a Bank Holiday in Scotland, so no need for an evening kick off.

the website said it was a 3 o'clock KO and then I heard in work it was a 7:45 KO. im so confused but I've got the day off work so It's all good

I personally dont see the problem with the kick-off time. Maybe for travelling fans it can be a bit of a hassle. For me I just get the cargo in the night before, but as its new year there will be plenty booze. Make sure I'm up at 7 bells and get the fry up on, along with the tunes. While 'm cooking and the tunes are playing the rest of the family will get up. We all eat breakfast then around 8 I start on the sauce. A couple hours of drinking and singing with the tunes getting louder all the time, then its time to leave. Get dropped off at my mates in the toon then time for the walk along the Gallowgate (bottle of wine) singing my heart out and everyone joining in
Then into the ground to watch the beloved hoops destroy the scum by 3 clear goals. Thats the plan anyway.
