Would not be a good bond imho.. Great actor but not bond material. I have no idea who the next bond should be.. No one sticks out!.. I'd play a wildcard and maybe...just maybe, cast a yank.. I really like the new captain kirk...so him.

MGM points out (jokingly) that it would be absurd for a white man to play the character of Shaft - but he's right.

 

Who really gives a * who plays a character in a film?

 

I like Butler but he would never suit James Bond. I barely adjusted to Daniel Craig ffs. I don't think race matters, it's just tradition to have a white guy - sound like a spivco. :smiley-laughing002:

Honestly believe Bond has to be in the mould of the classic look: Connery, Brosnan, Moore, Dalton.

Read one 'fan theory' though that basically says James Bond is really just an alias. And instead of taking each movie on its own merit, you can infact see it as a continuous timeline, its just that different men gain the position of 'Bond' when the other retires or dies. Same with the other characters.

So.....if you subscribe to that theory then I suppose you can really just have a black actor play the role.

 

Fair point, he's a Brit royal family loving * anyway.

Best fan theory I've ever seen was that Sean Connery in the rock is actualy James Bond after he betrayed MI6 with whatver was in those files, "This man does not exist on paper in America or England" and all that.


Clive owen would fit Bond like a glove I dont know why he hasnt been picked already.

James Bond is white and I can see this guys point. He's an iconic character and regardless of how PC people want to be he is a white man. It would be like taking that * detective Morgan Freeman played in the Along Came A Spider and Kiss The Girls films, Alex Cross, and making him white - the character in the source material is black - that's what was intended. I know there's a show Elementary where they have made Watson (from Sherlock Holmes) a female, Lucy Lui - that's also daft in my opinion. If you want different characters then create different characters, don't change original ones. It's a lazy way of being creative imo.

Bond films are awful, one of the worst film series ever.

Each film is a near identical linear story with a different villain and slightly altered motive.

 

Bond films in general are * aye. Casino Royale was a rare exception.

I dunno why people were creaming themselves over Skyfall, the plot is * ridiculous. There is literally no point in Javier Bardem's character getting himself caught, he could have just turned up at the court and shot M without all the fuss. Dumb * plot hole to miss considering it takes up a third of the * movie.

Problem with bind films they have for a long time been stuck in the past,The current films have more violence in them and more appealing to youngsters.

 

I'd agree with that. The reboot with Casino Royale distanced itself from all the old cliche pish. The Aston Martin getting wrecked and Bond not shgging the burd to go after the villain when it presented it self for a start. Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan cutting about driving tanks in the desert with a tux on, etc, was just annoying.

Then the movie would be 5 minutes long. :smiley-laughing002:
