Scandinavian? It's the one Ronny knows best.

Definitely not Scottish or English, you just don't get anywhere near value for money for the amount we're capable of spending. Need to be smarter.

I think Eastern Europe is a good shout too.

You'd think our manager would take advantage of the Scandinavian market.

We shouldn't be going anywhere other than those leagues. If the occasional star pops up in Scotland then aye or if there is a decent deal in the Championship etc then of course.

Forgot Austria, Switzerland and Czech Republic too.

Essentially everywhere other than the big leagues where we'd be as well not wasting our time.

Our scouts/the club seem to be getting lazy:smiley-laughing002: So much talent for minimal cost in all of those leagues mentioned.

Why not Israel? Bitton (and Ambrose)

I wish Celtic could spend £6/7/8 million on players. The difference in calibre of player between players costing that much and players at £2/3 million is incredible (usually)

Was watching the West Ham Liverpool game yesterday and that Kouyate for West Ham was very very good. Controlled the midfield. £7 mil from Anderlecht.

Aye its getting more obvious these days. You don't even have to look at places like Belgium as our players seem to be valued in the same way. Just look at the difference in price between our last two centre backs sold.

    Van Dijk 11 million
    Kelvin Wilson 2 million

Wilson was a good player but he's playing in the championship for a mid table club whist van Dijk is starring in the Premiership.

Eastern European leagues seem to have a fair amount of talent in them, looking at what comes out of them.

Does not matter were the * we go as long as we have the correct people in place to identify the correct players........

Mahrez down in the premier league was found in the french second tier..... 500K been 1 of the best players in the best league in the world this year.

so there is talent out there every were as far as i am concerned its about having the correct scouting team in place and identifying the talent before everyone else.

I agree he should be going for players he knows a lot about, rather than players some of our scouts have picked up, eastern europe is a must austria just finished top of there group for france 16.

    belgium wanyama

    holland virgil van *

we should look all over but belgium is a decent up and coming league we should look at their teams reserve teams and see if there are any other talents like wanyama

holland aswell we should be able to pick up some talent their we want good footballers i think eastern european players might have problems settling in

Belgium is definitely a market we should be looking to, they are producing very good players and the national team manager has shown that he will pick players in the SPFL with Boyata and Denayer.

Marc Wilmots non-bias towards our league is a massive plus point. I still think Van Dijk getting consistently ignores by Holland despite being by far their best defender contributed towards him going.

Belgium and the Scandinavian markets should definitely be were we are diving into, nevermind dipping our toes in.
