If only the club showed half the level of support to the fans, they have shown Tonev.

UEFA must have their own room for dealing with us these days. Its twice a year atleast ,legia thing and this now to add to collection come the end of the year.

Galatasaray got fined 40,000 Euros for this at the Emirates. Considering we are getting punished for one flare with no disruption to the game, then it shouldn't be that big a fine.

Some are saying the flares not the problem, it was because of a banner of the Zagreb owner our fans held up that led to the police wading in heavy handed.

The statement from the club praises most of the support but of course they are going to be critical of flares and what not.

Calling them "supposed supporters" is * but eventually it will affect all the fans if we keep coming to the attention of Uefa. 5 times in 3 years now.

I remember it being mentioned that Zagreb fans were boycotting but wasn't aware of a banner in our end. I doubt everyone that went out there would have been aware of the current situation and may have held up the banner not knowing what it meant.

But if our travel stewards were fighting off police, as someone has mentioned then the club should know the police were over reacting.

Yes the whole UEFA thing is a concern, but this is when our club need to back the travelling fans. If our own stewards were getting involved then they will have plenty of witnesses.

Oh goody, a chance for our angriest supporters to attack the club.

All for having the temerity of Celtic to ask the mindless individuals to stop damaging the club by lighting flares and attracting (potentially increasing) fines and providing ammunition for our enemies.

HANG THEM, WE ARE BEING TREATED LIKE CUSTOMERS BY THE PLC etc etc

Dig in boys, it's been a while.

    *stifles yawn*

The people having a wee whinge. You do realise clubs are fined by Uefa for a whole host of reasons - all the time?

    Obviously. :smiley-laughing002:

But its not the end of the world the way some make out. We aren't going to get banned from anything or face closed door games.

Of course but we are now getting fined for not standing back and letting thugs in uniform smash our faces in.

Just feel some things are worth picking up fines for.. If this is just simply a 'flare' issue.. Then it's needless..

I wouldn't be a fan of flares as my lungs are not the greatest but i will not pontificate to anyone about setting them off.

The whole issue is part of a larger footballing issue. The fan who attends games is getting pushed aside to make room for the sky remote brigade. Money and the suits are destroying football.

How many times are UEFA going to fine Celtic for the behaviour of a few idiots. The next step is starting to close areas of the ground or stop fans from travelling. People needs to learn they can't keep on costing the club money like this. I don't care how other clubs fans behave, we need to improve how we conduct ourselves.
UEFA now believe the Celtic supporters are troublemakers and they can't wait the hammer the club at every turn. The fans need to wise up, before they are banned totally.

Our bread and butter is through ticket sales. Our board should be bending over backwards to placate our fans.

    Bang on the bolded part.

    On the subject of flares

I listened to Radio 5 Live coverage of Roma v Man City the other night and the commentator talked about the display put on by Roma fans before the game. He mentioned a few flares being lit and how it was an impressive sight.

I note no UEFA charge for Roma on the website but Basel and some other teams have from the previous round of games.

    A general point

As usual we have tension of the * from the Scottish Media and the likes. No doubt Mr House will pipe up with his point of view in the coming weeks.

The aforementioned people are the ones who continue to stifle the growth of football for its spectators by continually treating/portraying people as hooligans. Hooliganism hasn't been an issue in Scotland(on a major scale) for many moons despite what people like to portray.

Football has moved on yet people like Glasgow City Council,Police Scotland and the Scottish Media continue to drag it towards the gutter with propaganda and backwards thinking.

We're no being fined for anything yet. The hearing is in February.

If the charge is down to the 'trouble' then hopefully the truth is the winner. I wasn't there but it looked to me on the video that Croatian police went in heavy handedly and overall were OTT. Hopefully the club back up the fans in this case.

If the charge is down to the flare(s) then we don't have a leg to stand on because the rules are clear. That said, so many clubs from all over Europe let off flares inside their stadiums these days and I'm not sure UEFA fine them all..

who do you want banned for life?

The person who lit the flare, or the whole GB?

Why not ban all the 1200 fans who were over there?
