Hey bhoys, Arsenal season ticket holder here. Just wanted to say that Aliadiere is a class striker, very very quick and is pretty much two footed. When he came out of the French academy clairfontaine a few years ago, he was rated higher than Trezegeut or Anelka or Henry at his age. Probably the closest thing Arsenal have to a traditional centre forward. He's very highly rated by Arsenal as he's just been given a new 3 year contract even though he's had an unfortunate series of injuries, hopefully its over now. He's bulked up almost double the size, and I hope and know that you bhoys will toughen him up and show him what a hard tackle feels like. I'm sure he'll give a year of great service though, just bring him back in one peice.

    Mike

cheers for your thoughts mate...Im ust say i wasn't too convinced when I heard we want him but he sounds not bad...I must say I'm annoyed at some of your fellow supporters. I read on a website, some Arsenal fan saying: "Wenger wants him to gain experience and toughen up, he won't achieve that at Celtic". That comment was really upsetting, but glad to see you give us some respect...i think lol.

    New Bhoy Aliadiere signs
    Gregor Kyle

THE CELTIC squad today returned from their summer break to report for the first day of preseason training and were joined by Jeremie Aliadiere, Gordon Strachan’s second new signing as Celtic manager.

After weeks of transfer speculation the highly-rated, French U21 international joined on a year-long loan deal from Arsenal after passing a stringent medical yesterday at Celtic Park.

Having recently signed a new three year deal at Highbury, Aliadiere is regarded as one of the London club’s most highly rated prospects and is among the crop of young French players who are seen as the future of the national side.

It was in fact his international aspirations and his hunger for first team football after a season marked by injury that convinced Aliadiere that his immediate future lay away from Highbury and he comes to Celtic Park determined to make an impact at both domestic and European level.

Blessed with exceptional pace and control, the 22 year-old striker has been known to operate not as an out and out goalscorer, but as a foil who can create space for his team mates and unlock defences with his passing and vision.

Aliadiere has had the opportunity to learn from some of Europe’s finest strikers at Highbury including Dennis Bergkamp, Jose Antonio Reyes, former Arsenal winger Sylvain Wiltord and Thierry Henry. Jeremie will actually take his compatriot Henry’s shirt number at Celtic Park, running out as 14 in the Hoops.

Aliadiere joined his new manager and team mates at Celtic for the first day of preseason and will later help launch the new Nike kit alongside fellow new-Bhoy Mo Camara and also Craig Beattie and Neil Lennon.

Lennon this week signed a new one year deal at the club and will take on the role of captain in the coming season.

Also at Celtic Park this morning 22 year old striker Beattie (right) put pen to paper on a new three year deal that further underlines the potential he showed during the course of the past season.

I can understand your point Marty, and I
would hope McGeady, Pearo, and Beattie
accept the challenge for places on offer.
We all know about MON's reluctance to
give them an extended run last season
and I'm hoping GS takes a more adventurous
    approach regarding the youngsters.

    Hail Hail

Thats what Robbie Savage is mate!!!:102:

Back to the point; it would be good to see the young players gettin a run in the team this season but im excited by Alialdiere, i think its a very shrewd move by GS, and hes a player that will inject life into the forward-line.

Well i hope with all the new signings(camara+aliadiere)that they do give the younters a chance as i think David Marshell has great potential remember what he done for us in the nou-camp plus at ibrox 2 days later if it wasnt for Marsh we wouldnt have got that far. I hope G.S gives him the chance he deserves.:50:
