Positives from tonight: Decent atmosphere, 3 points a good goal and Gordan proving he is still a top keeper.. The Man City Loanee was decent but after that there is not a lot to be happy about.. We were totally out passed and out played at home by lets be honest another average team.. I have absolutely no faith in our manager, sorry..

Zagreb won their first match 5-1 against a team who caused Salzburg problems tonight, who we drew with.

Ronny has showed a lot lately, going two up front at the weekend and getting the winner, going to a midfield 3 a couple of times when we needed to shore it up like, like tonight for example.

He's definitely showing signs of improvement in spotting danger and cutting it out.

Still some things to work on like the wide players tucking in and leaving enough space to sail the renfrew ferry down our flanks, but it's getting better.

3 wins in a row now, success breeds confidence.

Just got in....ok we were very lucky but * it...makes a change from Maribor...Barca away 2 seasons ago, Milan away last season and on and on

They were a very decent team and particularly the 2nd half we looked the away team.

Broony, VD, JD and of course Gordon all looked excellent

Tonev, Johansen I have not a clue what they are about

Lots of elementary mistake, harx to work out the tactics and still a frightening at times defence.

Very enjoyable game and more of a spectacle than the likes of Barca and Milan at home last season where at least we set out to be positive rather than stop the opposition

Very small support for Zagreb as all in the know knew contrary to the bullshit on here in the last week, didnt hear one song from them.

Great result but still much hard work and convincing to be done

 

lol right thats justified but when he got took off people around me where screaming at deila when half our play had broke down because of him then that pass to stokes was horrible.

 

Agreed not a great performance again. Our 2 central midfielders are there to break up play but we consistently see Johansen chasing the ball and dragging us out of shape!! Now I think he is a player but the manager is obviously telling him to run about like a headless chicken chasing the ball. I agree we have more pace which is a * send because we need it to cover our deficiencies in shape and ability. Jury still put on Delia for me but we have a class goal keeper.

 

Thailand I dont see the big deal. I think they were the better side....not by a huge margin but still, ifGordon hadn't been on form we'd probably gotten beat there.

Ronny tactics are a worry for me, we looked very stagnant when trying to press and track back. As for ball watching and leaving men free that is schoolboy stuff man.

Like I said great win, but plenty of scope for improvement. Thought Brown was good tonight also.

 

Broony was a stand out tonight...was everywhere and into everything....great captain.

Gordon is *.

 

He was colossal. The number of kicks he takes and just gets in with it is incredible. He inspires confidence in those around him almost visibly and is given quite a lot of hospital passes because players would rather Brown had the ball in a bad position than they had it in a good/okay position. That is the mark of a player who is a cut above the rest.

 

Mr negative now wants to crack the jokes..

We beat Barca and Morton beat us so that makes Morton world beaters etc... don't buy that kind of analysis..

But that's the thing Sean he didn't shore it up, They had chance after chance after chance..Only for Gordan we would of lost and badly..At one stage 3 * defenders went to the same ball leaving a forward on his tod one on one, absolute shambles..How many shots on target did we have, I recall 3 maybe.. I mean real chances..

Its not getting better, infact I think its getting worse.. its not totally the managers fault but when I look at him on the sidelines he doesn't fill me confidence.. There is sense of relief when we score or win from him.

yes 3 wins in a row ok and you can only beat whats infront of ya but its not getting better I am afraid.

Delighted with the win and 3 points. Exactly what we needed at this stage and win the next two and we give ourselves a great chance of being in the last 32.

First half we started well and got the deserved opening goal with lovely link up play between Stokes and Commons. Arguably they could have and should have went in at half time with a goal. The 25 yard strike which crashed off the post had my heart skipping a few beats. We created chances in that first half and could have done with getting the second.

Second half we were slack with passes and I thought allowed them far too much possession. That resulted in us chasing the ball and would explain why some looked tired as time dragged on.

Plus for me though was when noticed substitutions were made and I thought Kayal and Griffiths done well when they came on.

By far Gordon was the stand out MOM for me with some fantastic saves.

Granted we were far from being perfect and still a long way from seeing us attack teams the way we are used to, especially at home but the signs are there that given just a bit more time this team we see every week can improve.
