You would think this will be lenny's last season with us so its a fitting way to finish his Celtic career. You'd reckon stan will be our skipper from 06/07 onwards.

 

I think what celtic lack is a voice, lennon probably is the biggest talker on the field but i have my doubts over stan. a great player, could lead by example, but when it came to the crunch would he be able to gee up the lads? We need someone who is gonna voice their opinion, a player that the whole team listens to, someone with an attitude of Viera, Keane or i hate to say it, bazza. We havent had that for quite a while.

 

glad to see lennon take the armband, i did think it was time petrov took it though, would've thought we needed a captain for the next couple of years.

 

I think Lennon will do really well.

 

petrovs time will come...this is defo lennons last year, and stan will get it for hopefully, a very long time.

Would have preferred Petrov, but Lenny will do a great job. Besides is there anything else worse for the Huns if Lenny wins the league as captain??? A treble in his final season would be just reward for all his efforts in the last 5 years.

 

For that reason alone I might have considered Sutty over Stan for the role if lennon wasnt around.

Stan's 25 and lennon 32 ... so Petrov's time will come someday . Hope he'll continue to play better and better !

 

Heard from someone who knows the players very well that Neil was head and shoulders above the rest when it came to choosing the captain because of his total commitment and passion for the club.

Two things have come up so far I would question, you assume this will be Lennons last year, and that Petrov wants to stay mmm

lennon ill make a good captain i think&since this'll probs be his last season its nice for him to lead the troops out petrov woulda def made a great captain,but his time ill come&he'll be great,as he always is!

I admire Neil Lennon not only for the job he has done for us but for the abuse he has to take from Orcs and other team's so called supporters. This is a great tribute to him and thoroughly deserved. In taking this role as Captain he will have to learn a bit of discipline though and not get himself into trouble by mouthing at referees. This is where his new found discipline will set an example for the rest of the team.

P.S. This is coming form someone who was continuosly sent off for violent behavior and three time in half a season.

 

I Think Picking Lennon As Captain Is Good Because He Has Real Passion For The Club And I Also Think He Is A Good Role Model For Any Youths Coming Through!
