    I think many of us may be surprised and a little disillusioned to hear what goes on during negotiations. I was surprised Lawwell went back in for Scepovic after the debacle with the Getafe offer going by how it was reported (I know!) in Scotland. But really, what did the guy do - speak to another club who were interested? So what?

    Clearly, Lawwell regarded it as just part of the cut and thrust of the negotiations and not anything to prevent PL from doing a deal if possible. A bit like Lawwell coming out and prematurely pronouncing the deal to be dead. Both parties have been playing cute here, and I'm sure a lot worse goes on.

    Those of us old enough to remember the wrangling with Cadete (he wanted Celtic to pay him the remainder of his Sporting Lisbon contract as well as wages to play for Celtic, or something) will recall that when he made his debut as a sub in a fabulous 5-0 win against Aberdeen and scored within five minutes, all was forgotten.

    Speaking as the man who said Larsson "looks like a lassie", it's sometimes best not to take up too fixed a position until we see how he turns out.

    Viduka was the same ,he disappeared for a month if i remember correctly and quit Celtic ,Celtic refused to pay his 3.5 million tranfer fee.. and he turned out to be decent in the end.

    The good thing for us here is that even if he doesnt really want to be here, its in his interests to be * hot if he wants a move to a club he prefers for more money, and we make money on him. The alternative is he sits on the bench which is no good for him or us.

    Listen it's not for us to try to reason what goes on in a young Serbian head . Sometimes reading the posts its difficult for us to understand what is going on in other posters heads .
    What we have to do is give him a great Celtic welcome and win over any lingering doubts he may have .

    In the Viduka deal he was due £400k (i think) as part of his fee for coming to celtic and right away after signing he went missing claiming he was not well and needed to see doctor and its was only after the bunnet said * you im not giving you the money did he come out of hiding and turn up at celtic.
