While we make a profit on transfers no one should be hung out to dry over a couple of mistakes. The sale of VVD alone will recoup the majority of the money spent last year. It is only a fallacy that we wasted all our money on duds.

Johansen has been a shambles in both European games this season for us.

Pukki is a shocking excuse of a Celtic striker and I am still surprised fans are defending this guy.

Loovens was worse than Ambrose a rotten player.

Lassad didn't play because he wasn't good enough therefore a waste.

Juarez did look good at first maybe a couple of games but turned out to be a huge waste.

Yeah that is fine if you subscribe to the strategy of selling our best while poor players stay and we the fans have to watch them week in week out.

Exactly I had to * laugh at that point, uses the most overhyped, ridiculously and ludicrously expensive market in the world as his example.:smiley-laughing002:

I dont. So if we kept our decent players then we would not have to trawl around Europe looking for diamonds in the rough. The scouts had done a good job and gotten some pretty decent players only to be told to go back and find them again. How many Vics/VVDs are there out there going cheap? We should not expect our scouts to come up with three or four every year.

You could have replayed any of his last 5 interviews. For what it's worth I agree with him and always have, which isn't and wasn't the issue.

The question we want answered is why was there no investment when handed a lifeline on a platter following a horror show against a team such as Legia. Instead we waited until we were papped out the competition then sign a left winger and striker?

That is negligence, not the financial reality of playing in the SPL and if he thinks we are stupid then he is wrong.

It's all fundamental truths and that's the bottom line no matter how much people disagree. He confirmed what everybody already knows on all of the points made it's just the reality we find ourselves in at this juncture. The Europa is our level at the minute as the team gets rebuilt so let's deal with it and move forward.

heres something i think people cmpletely forget. ok say we got Derk B in for 3.3 mill or what ever it was. You also have to take into consideration how much wages they're getting. Say boarriggter got 25,000 a week, that adds another 1.2 million a year on that purchase which essentially all in costs 4.8 in wages and the reported 3.3 it cost to get him, that comes to 8.1 million pounds for one player. Now I know he's probably not on 25,000 a week but you get my example, the wages can end up more than the transfer in some cases. Even if lawwell had a Celtic tv interview explaining everything from inside to out, people are gonnae say he's full of * etc. Well, basically try n take the wages involved and realistically how much money it actually costs to have them here. P

not as if the clubs defrauding us spending our money on private jets and using the company card for personal vacations

people seem to act like the wages are of no factor when in reality, it cost us a fortune to have Joe ledley on the books, hense why lawwell was happy to see him go.

even though we're all mad because we got kicked out of the CL, you have to admit, in hindsight we will be able to progress more if ronnys system works with youth and low earners or loan signings with a choice to buy at the end. That way we dont east money on players like boarriggter, balde & possibly pukki.

Using this calculator for the cost of a player should we add wages saved to the price we receive for a player. Therefore for Hooper we got his fee plus a years saved wages. I also wonder what happens all the ST money and the CL money if none of it is budgeted for wages. We also have many of ancillary revenue which should help the day to day running costs.

I am not a fan of the big money transfer but I believe the purse strings should be loosened to some degree. I would rather see us make more of an effort to hold on to our players by increasing their wages with contract extensions.

Otherwise I am happy with players costing <£3.5m as I do not believe we can risk going much higher without a guarantee the player will adjust to Scottish football.

And if they turn out to be good they have to be paid for so its not like they are free.
