VVD played a great captains role tonight - leading the line, playing great passes out of defence and midfield, coming close with headers from corners and nearly equalizing at the end.
Driving the team forward and organising the defence as best he could, motivating those around him and this never-say- die attitude.
He added more ££'s to his value with his performance, thats for sure. Played for the jersey.

Oh wait, I got that wrong, our captain was Mulgrew, who was largely anonymous on the pitch, fell over when caught in possession outside our penalty box and didn't quite have the bottle or eagerness to lead by example tonight.
