    I stopped eating meat in 1992..was vegan for about ten years. It's a piece off * to be either i think,depends on how strong/weak willed you are. I am not the healthiest eater
    by any means but my reasons are both ethical and health reasons mainly ethical.
    All from my straight edge days..now it's all about cheese and beer,not all beers are
    veggie either. A lot of people make the mistake that all drink is safe.

    Aye I think a lot of farmed animals would probably die of exposure in a week if we left them to their own devices.

    This is how i see it. The poor we sod's just had his throat slit. Really sad and makes you feel bad. Then you refuse to eat him so he just rotes for no good reason? You mean *. Atleast when i eat him, he's been killed for a reason.

    Could use it every day of my life, so no, not really. You may want to read up on Ital since you seem to like Rastafarianism and Selassie so much.

    Me the wife and two kids are into our 5th year being meat free, dairy free, frankenwheat/gluten free, processed food free and stick to a plant based diet
    I wouldn't label myself or family as vegan as vegans generally eat processed foods sugars and wheat-gluten HFCs aspertame ace k etc

    Our foods consist of:

    Organic fruits
    Organic veg
    Raw nuts and seeds
    legumes/grains
    Tubers
    Plenty of filtered water and RO water.

    The food we consume is exceptional compared to pre 5 years ago.

    Yeah, I'm pretty much the same. We invested in a good quality juicer and have never looked back to be honest. Been almost two years for us.

    It's weird looking back at photos from three or four years ago, as I looked bloated, heavier and older than I do now.

    Still, to each their own I guess. As long as someone is happy with how they feel and look then more power to them.

    Is it not very dear to eat healthy all the time?

    As was mentioned, the majority of the animals that humans consume are bred specifically for that purpose.

    If there was less demand for meat, we'd see the corporations invest less money in the raising of these animals.

    Truth be told, there's more demand for meat based products than ever before, isn't there? That's what kind of switched me off of eating meat. The chances are that the hamburger you're eating isn't coming from this;

    [IMG]

    And is instead more likely to be coming from somewhere like this;

    [IMG]

    Forgetting how the animal feels about being treated like that, I was more concerned with how they were being raised and fed, and what effect it would have on me.

    I'm a selfish vegetarian. I'm not in it for the love of the animals or to make a political point, I'm in it because I want to be as healthy and alive for as long as possible.

    The meat industry, much like most other large industries really doesn't give a flying * about the poor sod who buys their * in Tesco.

    Cancer is on the rise, and diet plays a really large part in that. * are dying at shockingly early ages these days and a large part of the reason is diet.

    The animals being raised for consumption are done so as cheaply, quickly and easily as possible. The main aim of these companies is to make as much money as possible, and as much profit on their product as possible, right?

    They get away with all manner of shady behaviour simply because, like a lot of other major corporations, they have the various Governments in their pockets.

    So yeah, * that. I know the classic line that a lot of people will use is "well, you have to die some time, don't you?", and that's true.

    I just don't know many * who've spent years battling cancer only to eventually die before their time who will say just before they die that they still buy into that line of thinking. The thoughts turn more to leaving behind children, partners, not seeing their family grow up and so on.

    Again, to each their own. In the same way as I wouldn't try to convince strangers to stop drinking and smoking I wouldn't try to convince them to stop eating * that will eventually cause them health issues and possibly kill them.

    Aside from my family I couldn't really give a *. Fire into that square sausage and can of coke. Don't expect me to give a * though when you're riddled with cancer of the colon and have to * into a bag though! :smiley-laughing002:

    Not really, no. You'd be surprised at how much money is spent on meat, eating out, booze and suchlike.

    It's definitely not easier to eat healthy all the time, but that's just how it is.
