Glad to see that there was no waltzing in anyway. Looking like Lustig & VVD may be the preferred partnership until it's broken up somehow. Great way to get Lustig and Matthews on the park! Only downside is that it's a shame to curtail Lustig's attacking abilities.

The thing with players values is it really boils down to how much his club is willing to sell for. I know we (city) rate Denayer very highly at the moment and do not want to lose him which instantly raises his value. The fact that he will eventually class as club grown for CL purposes increases his value further. I'm not saying £10m is warrantied but if a club came to us offering £2m-£3m there's no chance we'd accept. Nowadays there's more factors to take into account than simply a players ability. For a start we don't need the money so it would take a big offer for us to consider it. Then the fact we really need some club grown players and that he is so highly rated.

Some finish for his goal. Very, very raw but you can see fairly clearly he will be a player in a few years.

Was 3 dodgy moments for him though, ones that if Ambrose had done he'd be getting slaughtered. Hope it was a case of just settling in though.

    • He lingered too long on the ball in the first half.
    • He did a dodgy pass back to Gordon, where Gordon took a sore one.
    • He got outmuscled and bailed out by Gordon by Ciftci.

Other than that though he looked very promising, very classy. Bit of a mini-Van Dijk. Mixed feelings on the performance, he won't get away with mistakes like that in Europe for one.

    We'll see how it goes.

Few dodgy moments, yet I still feel more comfortable with him partnering van Dijk than I do Ambrose......

Would love to see Efe in midfield at some point.

Made a few mistakes which I put down to nerves. The boy oozes class, it's clear for all to see. So similar to Van Dijk.

Shaky start defensively, took his goal superbly and played well though.

    To early to judge.

He is a younger and smaller Van Dijk. They play pretty much the exact same way and look similar.

He played very well today considering it was his debut. A bit dodgy defensively a couple of times but all in all, I'm impressed. Very comfortable on the ball.

Can tell he's a good footballer, also fast as * and powerful. Positioning was off at times but it is his first game, also Van Dijk kept waltzing forward and leaving him back alone, he literally spent 90% of the game as a 1 man defence with Dundee Utds forward right on him.

Not the biggest either, decent jump but dont think he'll be too good in the air, solid in the tackle a few times. Decent debut, would sign him now if we could.

Don't think it's too early to judge at all. Looks like a beast with a footballing brain.

He looked quite hesitant early doors but settled well as the game went on. Wonder if he'll start on Wednesday or if Lustig (doubt Ambrose will start) will be back in with Virgil at centre back.

Lustig will be at right back if Matthews is out.

Fantastic finish for a centre back, made 2 or 3 mistakes which would have been punished by decent opposition, but ultimately a very good debut for someone starting their 1st ever proper game of football.

Big, big step up for him if he plays vs Maribor though, I highly doubt they'll be as poor as Utd.

He reminds me more of Kelvin Wilson than Virgil Van Dijk, albeit he's better with the ball at his feet. Throws himself into challenges. Doesn't * about. Maybe looked a wee bit vulnerable in the air. Anyone else think that?
