The word 'good' is probably the right word to use for him on his day. He's never been better than good. In fact I don't think he'd look out of place at the likes of Aberdeen or ICT. And I genuinly mean that.

He's nothing special, and isn't good enough for us.

It says it all when GMS has actually impressed more than him, he's probably had more good games for Celtic than Forrest, and he's only been here 6 months.

Exactly how I feel as well, to be honest.

The point about his attitude is a good one. Most other players would get hounded for the hissy fits and laziness he shows on a regular basis but for some reason he escapes alot of criticism.

It's the same old, same old, though. One half of the support feels he is 'harshly treated' whereas the other half feels he gets off with alot more than he should. I'm firmly in the latter group.:56:

People only want him to be given yet more time because he's from the youth team.

If he was a foreign guy bought in who played like him and showed the same attitude, he'd have been labelled a flop long ago.

He plays well a lot more often than he's given credit for, picked on because of the injuries and people never seem to remember the good games and just adhere to the standard "Punt too injury prone" comment and that negativity I feel sticks with him and people just seem to remember the bad.

Spartak away, he changed the game when he came on. Resulting in our first (and only??) away win in the Champions league. I've always given him time because if he can play like he did that night, week in week out, he will be some player.

When does he play? Is the question. :86:

People aren't 'picking' on him for no reason mate, come on now. It's not just because he is injury prone either.

It's not hard to see why fans don't rate him.

Don't see the issue with that shouldn't we be trying to bring through our own players.

One thing that won't help him or us is everyone jumping on some sort of bandwagon to set him up to fail.

If we a signed a young foreign player from say from Barca youth, who had showed as much promise as Forrest but was then plagued by injuries; I bet a lot more patience would be shown to him when he returned fully fit.

    'Showed' being the key word.

He doesn't show it anymore. It would be the exact same answer if it was a youngster from Brazil, Spain, Argentina wherever the * you want him to come from.

If they had been given 5 or so years constantly injured and in and out of form, showing no real improvement of course the answer would still be the same.

This is what I mean about folk defending him to the hilt.:smiley-laughing002:
Of course we should encourage our young players to come through but he is 24 going on 25 now and has been stagnating for years. He's not a youngster or wee Jamesy anymore. Make or break this season.

Personally I back him because Ronny think he can sort him out. He just said that Forrest was at 40% last season and at 70% now. If Ronny thinks he can get Forrest to a 100%, I'm inclined to wait and see if he can do just that

He had one defender (edit: was one-on-one with the keeper actually, shot right at him) to put the ball past and he hit it right at him- just luckily a Spartak defender subsequently bundled it into his own net.

Then Izzaguire got the assist for Samaras' winner in stoppage time.

We're not going to get any real money for him if we sell him, due to his injury history, so there is very little risk in keeping him here and seeing if Ronny can get the best out of him.

When a game is going nowhere, James has the ability to get past a few players and be a threat in the offence.

Doing this last season as the only man [sic] while also being injured, I think is why he's rated.

For me he's more of a sub as is, but if he can get to a 100% who knows.

He didn't change the game at all, he fired the ball straight at the keeper and got lucky it bounced off a defender and went in.

    James Forrest.

The only man to get about 5 make or break seasons :smiley-laughing002:

Agree that I'd give him one last chance this season as the fee we'd get would probably be no more than £1.5-2million just now.

If it's another season spent more on the treatment table than in the squad then it's time to cut ties.

Don't remember anyone claiming any other season was make or break for him. He was probably injured at the start of about 4 of them. :smiley-laughing002:

This season definitely is though. almost a year injury free. If it doesn't happen this season then it never will.

    He's * useless, man.

His only decent attribute is pace, and he hasn't the footballing brain to put it in to use.
