After experiencing 2 weeks of traffic jams, games lanes and annoying, way too enthusiastic volunteers with big foam fingers directing people.

    Hopefully * not!

I don't think it will ever happen - I think the Commonwealth games is more on Glasgow's level.

They've probably put forward a good case for themselves over the last couple of weeks, but I think the Olympics are just a wee bit too big for Glasgow. I don't think we have the number of hotels or the infrastructure to cope with that many visitors.

They would need to invest quite a large amount of money
in Celtic park, Hampden & Murrayfield if they want the top stadia.
It would be worth it though.:86:

Coming from the least patriotic person in the world the last 2 weeks here in Glasgow even through all the traffic jams, road closures and queues have me realise just how indifferent I feel to the city and the Commonwealth :smiley-laughing002:

    Perhaps a joint Glasgow/Edinburgh host?

Especially if they build that super fast rail link between glasgow and edinburgh :)

    :56:Not a hope in *!

Sorry to disappoint, but the CG is only a fraction of what the OG's are, in terms of numbers, infrastructure requirements and the inherited costs.

London, the biggest city in the UK had to use Glasgow for some of its events!

In theory it could, but in reality....no chance. Not only could it not afford the bid, but it isnt big enough or important enough, and like others said, hasnt the infrastructure.
