Maciej Zurawski will be a Celtic Glasgow player next season. The striker settled the conditions of an individual contract with the Scottish club and passed this information on to the club authorities.

Wisla and Celtic settled the price for the 28 year old striker much earlier at 3 million Euros. The transfer itself, as of now, is just a matter of signing a few documents. "Zuraw" is headed for Glasgow again on Wednesday.

This was seen on the Wislaw Krakow web site, so he is on the way

C'mon Zuraw, finally we have got our bhoy!!

Can't wait til I see him in the green and white hoops, we have to make a good song up for him :p

We will have a very strong strike force next season, Sutty, Adliaere (sp) and Zuraw with Petrov and McGeady behind them :p, and plus Bellers could also be on his way :D
Could things be on the turn at Celtic, alls we need now is another defender and a midfielder.

FOOTBALL: ZURA: I'M GOING TO BE A CELT

    Jun 29 2005

    By Neil Cameron

STRIKE ace Maciej Zurawski appeared on TV in Poland last night and claimed he had opted to join Celtic.

He seemed to have followed the advice of Wisla Krakow president Janusz Basalaj who urged his star asset to choose Parkhead and not Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Basalaj said: 'I spoke with Maciej on Monday and he said, 'Boss, I'm still thinking'.

'My feeling is he still wants to go to Celtic.

'Trabzonspor have spoken with him but if it was my choice, I would sign for Celtic. The prospect of playing in Britain is an exciting one for

Zurawski. Wisla would gladly sell Maciej to a club such as Celtic.'

Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell is confident a deal will be struck.

    Żurawski:Turskish offer was better, but...
"It may have been the most important decision in my life nad that's why I didn't want to choose it recklessly." - said Maciej Zurawski in the interview for "Gazeta Krakowska"
"Turks offered better financial conditions, but it was not that clear. What's more, I Turkey was an attractive possibillity for the fact of my friend Mirek Szymkowiak playing there. But when I considered sports aspects of both offers, I was sure Celtic is much better option. When I was coming back to Poland after negotiations with Gordon Strachan, I felt I will return to Scotland soon. I am glad I have got through all this stuff and now I can concentrate my attention only on football".

Artur Boruc heads for Celtic too
    .
It all seems that we will have two polish football players in Celtic Glasgow next season. Besides Maciej Żurawski, Celtic will get Legia Warsaw's goalkeeper Artur Boruc till the end of the week.
Although Antii Niemi is number one on Gordon Strachan's shortlist, Celtic doesnt't agree to pay 2,5mln euro for that keeper. In this case, employing Boruc, who costs about 1mln less than Niemi is very likely.

    sorry for mistakes.

Zurawski is always considering things very long, but finally, his decisions are also verry well.
I hope that he will do evrything to prove that he deserve to play in Celitic.
The question for now is: how about his acclimatisation in Scotish fotboll's leaque? Phenomel of Zurawski playing is, he needen't wait for pass to him which is score chanse only he may do it himselves. As we all could have seen, he had had matches, where he was able to win with all defenders! There is very imortant ability for striker that he also could play durning the game as a midfielder.
Someone could say that he must like plaing with teams like Celtics, couse most of his goals in representation were scored against team become from islands, as we say. But it deoes'nt mean that he will also like playing in all season long scotish leaque. I mean that polish leaque is completely difrent. But it is his problem and I there isn't no choice. He must do best what he can do.
In the other hand Zurawski first time in his carear is changing team into foregin one. It must be realy challenge for him and his family. But I'm very glad that his new home is Celtic. In Poland we haven't got the athmospher like on yours area. First we will have bulit any decent stadium!

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but has this guy actually officially said he has signed for Celtic, all I seem to read are reports from websites that are unofficial and mixed up translations of Polish.

I have to to say I am really glad that Zurawski has decided to play for Celtics. I hope that clubs will reach agreement as soon as possible.

After so nice advertising we (polish fans) had done here I really hope Maciek will play at the highest standart during all upcoming season. I think after every league match This forum will be spammed by us (polish fans) with question about Zuraw performance hope You (Celtic supporters) will use to it.

Congratulation in singing of Zurawski one of the best strikers in eastern (and i hope now also in western) Europe.

One more thing MACIEK do not fail our expectations!!!!

No problem bhoywunda:) We know a lot about Celtic, especially in Gdansk, where I live. We have also "white`n`green" club - Lechia. A lot of people here have Celtic shirts on Lechia matches (old fashion Umbro generally:). Lechia and Wisla (Zurawski) supporters are friends since 30 years! Now its a second reason to be a Celtic supporter:) Zurawski in a white and green stripes:)
Celtic has a respect here. We like hard working teams, fighting teams, brave teams.
We like faithful (maybe "loyal" is better word?) players too. Players like Larsson of course (fantasic story with his come back to Celtic Park and goal for Barcelona, with no joy on his face!) or Jackie (what a drama with his "strange" move to Wolves...).
I think we have similar "understanding" of brave, honor and addiction:)

    sorry for my "polish-english":)

To bhoywunda and other Celtic fans: the fans of Wisla Kraków have already been Celtic supporters - it started in 1976 when Celtic was defeated by Wisla in the UEFA Cup (2:0 in Kraków). Since then we've been friends. Last year I was at Celtic Park watching the match vs Motherwell (2:0) and I was really impressed by the stadium and the audience. This is what Zuraw needs - the atmosphere of the great match. We will miss him a lot but from time to time we will appear at Celtic Park to support him and his new team, so don't be astonished by the scarfs or the flags with the white star among the green and white stripes. Greetings from Kraków!
