These 3rd world footballers will soon qualify to the world cup in Germany (maybe even before England). I ask You where is Scotland - the first world football power? Stop trolling around :>

No offence to normal people here.

Totally agree with you Paskuda. Too many people still have this crazy notion that in footballing terms were still giants (or at least semi giants). Fact is that Scottish football to be perfectly honest is sh*te. There's been a few players who have graced scottish football in the last few years who have been good in European terms - Henrik, Gascoigne, mibbe Laudrup, but the majority of these superstars in the Scottish league haven't done the damage when they have made the step up. It's a good barometer of how bad the Scottish game is.

There's a problem when most of our top flight clubs in Scotland have so few players who can kick with both feet, adn string a series of passes together.
You can see the same problem with the national team.

Imho Scotland is a 3rd World Footballing nation - it's the foreigners which play the most attractive football, and play at a higher level in our league...

FOOTBALL: CELTS FACE DOUBLE BLOW Jun 28 2005

Rivals close in on Niemi and Zurawski

    By Hugh Keevins

CELTIC were facing a case of double jeopardy on the transfer front last night as they look set to lose out on Antti Niemi and Maciej Zurawski.

Turkish club Trabzonspor have increased their offer for the Polish striker while Spanish clubs Villarreal and Espanyol are ready to make a move for the ex-Rangers keeper.

Niemi's agent,Richard Cody, said: 'Antti has a lot of respect for Gordon Strachan and would have no hesitation over going back to Scotland but we now have serious interest from Spain.'

Southampton want £2million for Niemi, roughly the figure Wisla Krakow will accept for the free-scoring Zurawski.

Strachan also faces a battle to sign Zurawski and sources close to the player said last night: 'Maciej would prefer to go to Celtic but he'll get more money by going to Turkey

I don't know how it's possible to say that without causing offence. We might be a big club but we also play in one of the worst leagues. And if you look on the international stage Poland actually finished third in the 1974 World Cup beating teams like Argentina, Italy and Brazil, and made it through to the second group stage in 1978 which is a darn sight more than Scotland did.

Poland also finished third in the 1982 World Cup beating France in the last game, but this is the past. I think we should stop this discussion because it lead us to nowhere.

Perhaps this is just wishfull thinking on Keevan's and the Daily Rangers part.
I am a little worried that Zurawski has asked for 2 more days to consider his options, but Strachan looks likely to tie up Aliedere from Arsenal. Even if we don't get our first choices, WGS has other options, but the squad is back on Monday, so this week is very important. We need to get the new squad to gel in time for the CL qualifiers.

    IReallyHopeWeDon'tLoseOutOnHim! LOL!

But, maybe this means Bellamy is staying and that we don't need this guy? I really think we do though and it would be a huge disappointment not buying him!

Deep thinker? Better not coz my Polish friends could understand that :84:

I just read a message posted on Wisla messageboard by Trabzonspor fan. According to him on the official Trabzonspor site there is a statement that Turks gave up on Zurawski and they will be looking for another striker. Cannot confirm that coz I do not speak Turkish :84:
