Celtic bid £2million for Zurawski

    Gordon Strachan has made his first official move in the transfer market with a £2million bid for Maciej Zurawski of Wisla Krakow.

    The Polish striker is in top form and has already stated in the media he would love to move to the Scottish giants.

    And Wisla President Janusz Basalaj said earlier today: "We have just received an official offer from the Scottish club.

    "Celtic has presented their proposal and we have launched negotiations."

    Strachan has had Zurawski watched and is hopeful of getting the player on board quickly.

    But Celtic fans will be concerned that this might mean a move for Welshman Craig Bellamy is becoming more and more unlikely.

    Newcastle want at least £5million for the unsettled striker although Celtic aren't prepared to match that valuation.

    Meanwhile, defender Joos Valgaeran has signed for FC Brugge on a free after his contract expired.

    The Belgian will be returning to his homeland after Martin O'Neill brought him to Glasgow 5 years ago.

    Neil Lennon though is going nowhere after agreeing to sign a one year deal which will probably see the Northern Irishman into retirement.

      In fact. Zurawski is 30 years old and the true is, if he want to be a world-class player he would play the best season, he's ever had. It is last chance! Celtic is the best choice for him, I think.
      If he realy consider his carear, money would not be so important. There are also great Celtic's fans and he musn't forget that first of all he will play for them.

      Now Celtic is ready to win the Champions League and other trophies... I hope Maciek will quickly settle in and show how we play football in Poland :) He'll became an idol for thousands of football fans in Scotland as he allready is in Poland!

      We haven't got any polish team in Champions League since almost ten years and without Zuraw we won't get it fast. However, everyone is happy that Maciek moved to Celtic Park, because everyone knows and respects Celtic!

      Just a thought but do you think celtic are linen up signings to unveille with the new celtic kit! I have been told of 3 major signings but nike wont them to be paraided with the new kit!

      One more polish voice about Zurawski.
      I'm not the Wisla Krakow fan, rather Legia and Gornik Leczna, but Zurawski is really the best player of polish legue, and i think he will be good in your's too. And I liked Celtic before this transfer, but now I have the impulse to seek the web for this forum. By the way it is nice. Hope Zurawski will be playing as good as he can in Celtic and in national. And we will beat the England next time and qualify to the champs.

      I think it means his second and third signing as in Magic and Aliadaire. and the third major signing would be Camara. The latter being extreamly ironic as there is nothing remotly major about him

      The prospect of Aliaderes pace and Zurawskis finishing really does excite me! Just hope we bring in another defender such as Dellas and perhaps another midfielder and then roll on next season!
