On the wing he didnmt really get into it, after Bitton got sent off and he moved to central midfield he started controlling the game.

Switched between the right and left of the midfield three. Thought he played well, always looked to move forward and take on a man, linked up ok with Tierney.

One thing I noticed too was he was always trying to gee up the rest of the team, does a lot of talking and encouraging. More than some of the senior players, almost Broony-like.

Wide left, then wide right after a shake up. He was useful and had a few near misses. I like him and he is a good squad player who can do a job in many positions. The problem though is that Deila plays him religiously as a wide man in the bank of three. If he is to make it here his future lies as a central midfield player. Simple as that. He is not creative enough for the role Deila is asking of him. I think he has a future as a midfielder who can arrive late in the box. Look at the job WGS did with Paul Hartely I dont see any reason why McGregor cannot play deeper in midfield.

Like him or not, he always makes an effort, he is a Celtic youth so that makes sense. Look at Tierneys determination to do his best for the shirt. That's why it's a great idea to produce your own players. They will give that bit more for the shirt, generally, than a player brought in from elsewhere.

I like McGregor, quality wise he can be good and bad but he's always doing his best, which is the least we should expect.

I do not understand the hate this boy gets. Is there something I don't know?

I thought he done really well yesterday after Bitton was sent off. He always tries his best.

I watched his interview with Celtic TV. Comes across as a really nice young man.

He's a good bhoy but he's never going to become a great player. He lacks the athleticism of Forrest and the drive of Tierney, so he's kind of stuck as a middling come-good youth player. Ideally, we should be looking at moving him on.

Didn't think he played well yesterday but he didn't hide. Always looking for the ball even when things weren't happening for him.

Why must we move on players who aren't quite up to the standards of the first team?

I see this a lot (not always from you) that players need shifted if they aren't good enough to be first team regulars.

It's a squad game these days, so many games to play over the course of a season that it's invaluable to have players who can step in and do a job.

If he is happy to stay them I am happy to have him.

He's got something we should be helping him harness that ability.

Works hard, scores goals and gives a *. Keep.

I love that skill he has where he can just place a long shot into the corner rather than booting it. Not a lot of players can do that.

He does put in some effort too.

He does have a knack for being really accurate with his shots. There's no doubt, on his day, he's a good player to have and effective and Europe doesn't faze him. We should def be keeping him if he's happy to stay and contribute like he is now, in and out, maybe not always in the team, etc. A squad player basically. He's like the ideal squad player. Got a lot of time for him and have never really understood why some folk don't like him.

    A good squad player then?

Whether that is enough for him I don't know.

Agreed mate. There is a few who should be shown the door before him though.

In an ideal world he would even be anywhere near a Celtic squad but this is where we find ourselves.

In an ideal world and an ideal Celtic team he'd be a good player off the bench or a rotation option. Think he's fairly useful, but probably not CL starting quality (though not a lot of our players are currently). Keep him around definitely.

A part-time job outside of playing for Celtic? Old-school thinking, but I like it. :50:
