I've already said before now that Stevie May is a huge St Johnstone fan and hates both us and the zombies equally. His only team now in Scotland will be St Johnstone apart from the teams he played for on loan and his next stop will be England but maybe after one more season with St Johnstone. Basically I've given up on us signing him due to this.

    Exactly.

    Watt is far better.

May will end up at some poxy English club like Leeds and languish in the lower leagues.

That has no significance whatsoever to this debate. In League games, that argument would perhaps stand up, but not in Cup games against other teams it doesn't.

Well it does in my eyes, slip up in the cup games during this period and you're basically almost gifting Oldco the cups. That's a lot of pressure, a lot more than we've had to deal with the last couple of seasons under Lenny.

The pressure should remain a constant. If we get knocked out, we can't win it, and that is all that matters really. That is the same regardless of who else is in the compeition. Do you honestly think defeats by Falkirk, Clyde, St. Mirren etc, were all down to pressure because Rangers were playing in the top league?

don't get why some are willing to accept less than the CL qualification this season just because a new manger is in place. If Lennon was still here and we failed to qualify for the CL that would be seen as a huge failure and it would probably end his tenure. Celtic's baseline targets should not be revised down just 'cos someone new has taken over.

Either Deila is up for the job or he's not. Even if Forster or Van Dijk leave, he should have enough with what we have and maybe a couple of signings to come, to get the team qualified. They might struggle when they get there but they should qualify, bottom line.

Like a horse in the Grand National, it doesn't matter if he falls at the first or falls at the last fence, if he falls he fails. Hopefully Deila wont fall at the first. CL qualification is a must.

Want to see CL qualification, and at least 3rd place in the group.

A cup wouldn't go amiss too...

Do you honestly think that professional football players feel less pressure in the cups now, because they know that if they slip up, at least Rangers aren't alive anymore and so it won't be them that wins it? Honestly? Are you sure?

You can dress it up any other way you like but I'm not having it. There was far more pressure in the cup games when a strong Oldco were competing with us for them. 'and that is all that matters really', that's nonsense and is not 'the same regardless of the competition. Listen to what you're saying, would you rather lose the cup to Oldco or any other Scottish side? I'm pretty sure you're answer would be any other Scottish side if there had to be the choice.

The fact is this is a unique situation to be in with how far ahead we are of EVERYONE domestically and the cups should be a lot easier to ahcieve then they were with a strong Oldco competing. No excuses, we should have most certainly won the treble the last two seasons and have blown it, I have confidence in Ronnie though that he won't fail in that quest(treble) like Lenny did.

Because that's Lenny's team and they all know his ideas by now, even then it wasn't a given. I certainly wouldn't have caled for his head had he not qualified. Deila needs time to build his own team and get his ideas across. What happened to Strachan in his first game?

People underestimate how difficult 3 one off ties can be.

Why are you even getting involved again rr? I haven't posted to you so just keep out of it. All you ever want to do it seems is just disagree with on ANYTHING I ever say so there's no point debating with you.

Garbage, there was the same pressure on cup games now, as there was then. Maybe even more so now, as fans like yourself think that we should be easily winning trebles, so the weight of expectation is greater.

No, listen to what you are saying. Was Rangers potentially winning a trophy the first thing on your mind after we exited a cup? It certainly wasn't on my mind anyway after defeats to Clyde, Falkirk etc. I was gutted at being out of a cup, but I certainly didn't think twice about the Huns going on to win the competition.

Don't talk pish, of course I was gutted but then I quickly realised that we had just gifted those manky, scummy, Scotlands Shame inbreds an easy passage to a cup. You can't be serious?
