Credit to Lennon, i think we now have a team capable of playing possession football, starting with and including our defenders. Provided we keep them, Efe and VVD are very good with the ball at their feet, as are our full backs.

If we adopt his quick-passing style combined with aggressive hunting down of the opposition i think we could be a very hard team to beat.

We're in avery good position and still have a very good squad, if this guy is all about building and developing players then he's starting from a great position, meaning the sky's limit

Great info from the Norwegian fellows here. I'm getting more excited by the day with the prospect of us becoming a top team in Europe again.

If he doesn't pick John Collins as his AM who do you suppose it will be?

With genuine respect to your view and without wishing to cause offence at all - I've played football all of my life and never found bad weather an excuse for punt and rush. Why is the weather a factor in this? This is physicality substituting for a lack of control and thought - that's all.

Totally agree with the closing down points. And the new strikers points. Would love to see us go for a play maker as well in the Pirlo mould. I thought that Chris Commons might be that - but he seems to be more of a sprint & shot guy than a play maker. That's why he scores in the domestic league but is next to anonymous against CL class teams.

Deila used Stefan as a playmaker like Pirlo in Strømsgodset.

I think Commons would fit lovely into a central midfield role alongside Johansen. Otherwise, he could be our lone striker.

Commons and Johansen are both left sided players. If Deila goes 4-3-3 he will need a ball winner/harassing type player in the middle so for me no room for 2 'lefties'.

Why not? He was our top goalscorer this year and is a very capable finisher. I think he'd be quite decent, it could turn out to be a perfect fit. A lone striker needs to have an excellent first touch, and Commons has that. No harm in trying it out. Otherwise, we have Griffiths.

He doesn't have pace, the ability to hold up the ball and isn't good in the air. He is fine where he is.

    He definitely does.

If Deila is insisting on playing 4-3-3, there is no longer a 'Commons' role in the team. Like I said, I think he'd be perfectly suited to the central midfield role.

A lot of the time he just puts his * in the defender, falls to the ground looking for a free kick. He'd be better in centre mid than as a lone striker. Deila may want to play 4-3-3 but then again he may want to fit in Commons before donkeys like Boerrigter and Pukki

Still don't understand how Pukki is still labeled a 'donkey'. His minutes per goal ratio wasn't horrendous (good for fourth on the team behind Commons and Griffiths), he clearly works hard and he was scoring when he was put on towards the end of the season. He had that horrendous run after his first two games that did his confidence no good. I reckon he'll do well under the new manager.

He works hard but I've never seen anything from him that would suggest he'll ever score 20 goals a season for us. By all accounts his best position is behind the striker just like Commons. I know who I'd rather play

He's not quick or strong enough to be a lone striker. Griffiths no way, just not good enough. Need a new striker brought in imo.
