I sort of feel that some people on here are romanticising the Lennon era a bit. We were definately in a decline when he left us, and he knew that. We got into the CL, but barely and we didn't do well in it either. It's better than no CL football, but I'm not sure we'd make it into the CL in the 2014-15 season with Lennon in charge either and with the squad we had.

About 99% Minty. Lenny will be expected to make these noises to the media. Does his career no harm being linked. But he won't be back.:50:

    I dunno.

If he can come to an agreement with Lawwell where by gones are bye gones, then the board will be savvy enough to know that we need a manager in who is gonna be respected by the Celtic crowd, which Neil would very much be.

Someone who knows who to beat the huns, can get us into Europe and can stabilize the Celtic support into rapturous unity.

Plus more importantly, he's unattached :56:

Judging by his reaction to the question on Sunday, he's at least interested.

Lennon ditched us and if his career wasn't going to pieces and he was doing well down south he wouldn't want to come back to us. Moyes wants the job so give it to him.

Can't agree with this mate. If anything the board ditched him by a total lack of faith in him and he saw the regression we'v had coming and bailed. I'm not keen on him back actually but he certainly didn't ditch us. With more backing from above think he would have stayed.

I think Lennon Left because He Knows what Celtic is, and under the parameters set by the board He knew he couldn't fulfill his own or the supports ambitions.
Id have a good Celtic man like him back in a heartbeat if the board let him do his job the way he wanted too

No. I'd rather have him than Deila, but people are overlooking the maybe not so great things about him.

But the great eclipsed the not so great.

What is it you are wanting, because we can't afford it.

I'd rather lose the Scottish Cup and League Cup than not be a part of the CL.

Neil Lennon knew what it took to negotiate the CL qualifiers, that is all we require. He had his team ready in July.

I wouldn't be against Lenny coming back, certainly have Lenny before Moyes.

It would sicken the Sevco fans to see Lenny back, and we wouldn't be pushovers anymore.

It wouldn't just sicken the *, it would terrify them. They know how good Lenny is. They also know if we had Lenny in the dugout on Sunday, it would have been a massacre.

Moyes career hasn't exactly blossomed since he left Everton has it? At least Lenny has only been sacked once:86:

Aye, I'd rather have him than Deila. But I don't know if he's the way forward for us now, just my two cents on it. If he comes and does well I'd be happy to have been proven wrong.

Edit: But maybe with a striker who knows how to score in Europe we'd improve under Lennon again. It was mostly due to the fact that we had Stokes as a striker we didn't do so well in the CL and barely qualified to it his last season.
