If it's the right man yes. We shouldn't rush into appointing anyone though in all honesty, we need to identify who is exactly the right man to take us forward from where we are right now and a lot needs to be taken into consideration. It won't be as simple as just getting the best manager available.

Going into next season I think the board will really need to look at a few things: who can get us into the CL, who can get us back to playing exciting football and dominating domestically and get bums back on seats and also how much money is the manager going to need/want both in terms of wages and transfer fees.

I think the money factor is the biggest one and that won't be agreed overnight.

To be fair you have backed him most of the time. I would ask this though- if we had have won on penalties would you still have backed him? Because that performance yesterday was a joke- we lost not because we are * at pens we lost because we are a * team. I wanted him gone probably after the european campaign- to do it now lacks class. A double would have papered over the cracks- he should have been gone in the summer even if we had won on pens.

Look at Chelsea, sacked Mourinho got an experienced manager in to steady the ship, and went about seeking a replacement, all done with time on their side, and getting better results in the process. Same with Man City, manager knows he is away and Pep coming in, still managing to go far in the UCL with fans knowing * is going on.

Compare that to us, no replacement lined up yet, and no one knowing if he is staying or going next season (nothing official) and everyone to a man (team included by the looks of it) pretty much wanting him gone imminently. * shambles when it really should be an easy process, especially when we should be aiming to operate like the clubs mentioned with huge budgets and a CEO like ours on a massive wage.

Has anyone actually said that? I've heard plenty of calls to sack him but not one suggesting we give the reigns to Collins/Kennedy.

Folk need to get over this sentimental attachment they have do Ronny Deila. We don't owe him anything other than an agreed upon payoff, to be bluntly honest. Just as it's ridiculous to expect him to walk away without this payoff, it's ridiculous for anyone to suggest we should keep him to 'let him leave with his head held high' or any * like that.

You could add Scott Allan into the mix as well. Then compare that with what Warburton has put together at Sevco in less time.

I still believe we are ahead of them. One game can only tell you so much. Our signings from here on need to be players who can make a difference though.

They had to play at their absolute best and us at our worst and they could only manage a draw!!! A new manager with a couple of signings and who is willing to boot arses will see us open up the gap that should have been evident yesterday

You think we rushed into appointing him?

I'm not sure, I think that it was a bit of a low-cost gamble to the board. They knew we wouldn't have much competition for a few years so decided to get someone in with an aim to improve the development side of things and build for the future. It's totally backfired in that results have been utter * and we have regressed if anything. I see it as they just haven't wanted to spend more money than they needed to for the few years that we were without challenge.

It's different now though I think, if they haven't been woken up by what's happened this season then I would be seriously worried.

He should be out the door as soon as possible. If the board haven't been sounding out a replacement, they are remiss. Right now I would like to hear that Neil Lennon has the job. In fact, in light of Ronny's garbage, it highlights how * good Lennon is - especially as Celtic manager. He has a love and passion for this club which nobody can match. He should be in discussions with Celtic right now, announced asap.

Yes, and this focus on spin over substance has killed us. Get * Lennon in now.

    That is an excellent piece.

Can't disagree with a word there. In the four years that have passed since their death, the board should have done their utmost to ensure that there was no way of the new club competing with us once they had finally made it to the top division.

Now we're looking at a scenario where it seems as though we're on almost equal footing.

I still think we have a better squad than they do, but their players are hungrier, more together as a unit, and seem to be playing for their manager. Unlike ourselves.

Yeah I agree with you to an extent, I do think what he did at Stromsgodset was impressive though and it did give a lot of us genuine hope for what he could bring in terms of development. It just hasn't worked though, the Celtic job has been way too big for him. I don't think they'll do anything similar this time though.

Even though I've defended him quite a bit I was actually one of the most concerned when we first appointed him because I thought he came across as a bit naive in his way of thinking. Can remember him talking about how he would prefer to win 5-4 than 1-0 which I still think is a ridiculous attitude, especially managing a club who's season depends so heavily on three two legged champions league qualifiers where the away goal rule applies :smiley-laughing002:

That's what I am saying, he was the cheap option and a massive gamble. We clearly weren't willing to pay the money to anyone with any sort of proven track record at a big club or in a big league. Even Roy Keane turned us down ffs.

I don't think there's any doubt(except at board level it seems) that Ronny should go, should have already gone, in fact. I do feel a little sympathy for him, he seems a genuine, decent guy and i do think he and his style of coaching could be a success at some other less demanding clubs. I'm also not convinced he has had as much say in transfers as we're led to believe. That said he has been his own worst enemy with his misguided loyalty to players who are either out of form(Johansen, Armstrong and others) or just not good enough(Boyata, Ambrose) and also in his refusal to use different formations/systems. The real issue here though is who replaces him. The guys mentioned before Deila got the job were uninspiring if not just plain depressing(with the exception of King Henrik but he is not yet ready for what is currently required at Celtic). It's hard to imagine the board giving us the boss we need and deserve(Rogers, Moyes, Marcelo Bielsa would be fantastic) but let's hope they prove me wrong.

Hope to see many similar banners at the weekend.

Major wake up call is needed, now more than ever.
