Being unlucky - Are people actually using this an excuse, that is laughable. I've heard it all now

The team is a reflection on him. Poor decision making and poor discipline reflects on poor leadership.

Id argue with the net funds he has had at his disposal and the standard of opposition on offer in Scottish football, it would be very hard for him to move us forward.

I used this gif in another thread, but i honestly think many players use Celtic as a stepping stone, and the minute we are out of Europe, their attitude to winning trophies such as the League Cup is akin to this:

The 'knee-* reaction' stuff is ridiculous tbh. He's been here for over 18 months now and is making the same mistakes as always.

I would personally prefer Moyes to come in next season, but if Deila wins the League and the Scottish Cup, I'd find it hard to justify letting him go at that point. (I'm sure others could justify it, and though I don't agree with the assertion that a mere two trophies isn't actually an achievement of some sort, I can understand why some would lean that way)

Wednesday is a big game for him

We lose that, and he'll be on shaky ground IMO

Will be interesting to see what happens, regardless of the result

It's great to have big games that you can look forward to though, and I'm very much looking forward to Wednesday

Players who use Celtic as a stepping stone need to perform consistently if they want a big move. VVD did not get a big money move to England based on his Euro exploits

IMO that's a total cop out. Yes we've lost important players in the team and given him a fraction of the sale to replace, that's pretty much universal at most clubs.

He still has a transfer/wage budget which dwarfs teams that have made us look dreadful.

The Celtic board love trotting out the line that we can't compete with the EPL or Big European clubs because they spend so much more than us; by that logic the teams battering us should also have no chance. Or is this excuse only applicable if it serves their agenda?

That's very true, but looking at yesterday`s game I think its debatable whether Ambrose should have been sent off and also the ref seemed to have no problem with the rugby that Ross County were playing when they scored their second goal. Not a lot we can do about those sort of decisions and it cost us the game.

I just can't make myself get that angry about yesterday's game, I'm gutted that we got beat same as ever, but no matter how good a team you are or how big the gulf in quality with the team you're up against, if you're playing with 10 men for almost the whole game it's going to be hard to get a result, always going to be chasing it.

If any team plays that long with 10 men it's usually seen as a massive result just to hang on and get a draw, nevermind turning it around and winning.

But we should win anyway just because we're Celtic, no matter the circumstances. Sack the board.

I dont think the foreign players care about Scottish football.....or winning Scottish trophies. In the eyes of almost everyone outwith Scotland, they are meaningless, and any player that comes to Celtic in this climate, is coming for the money and the chance to get into England.(imho)

Maybe because we moved back when Rangers died and the premiership started making transfers ridiculous. Moving forward was always going to take time when the manager came in and with the type of signings we make. Have some perspective.

Always said he should get the CL next year, failure in that then it's a different story. I'm still a fan of his, I know there's not many left.

They have a much better chance of getting into England if they play consistently well.

Could you label this complaint at the door of Lubo, Nakamura, Petrov Larrson, even back to the like of Di Canio or the more recent culprits VVD and Vic

I would say that wasn't the primary cause for the result. I'm much more concerned about the gutless performance on the park and the inability to alter the flow of the game from the touchline.

Aberdeen went down to 10 men in the first half v Ross County and dug in to win 3-2. I'd say Aberdeen are the polar opposite of us: very limited players/squad but commendable workrate and application v talented players but mentally weak players who chuck it the minute the going gets tough.

Lets be honest, he's probably not on a shoogly peg.

He's survived worse and folks still giving it all the same excuses. The board won't sack him until the fans turn on the board, then they'll offer him as a sacrificial lamb.

Yes they would, but we dont get as much exposure even there now, unless its a big game....like yesterday.Unfortunately things transpired against us yesterday, and i personally dont blame the players or manager for that.

I think when Rangers were around, the players were more motivated, yes.The games were highlighted on news channels around Europe, especially if it was a cup game or whatever, so the players got more exposure etc. Also, the medals did have more credibility, whether we like it or not.........so, even after losing in Europe, the challenge remained until the end of the season.

    Not now.

its getting to the stage now its just not the manager needs to go but what the * is going on at board level as well ,as we have went from getting to the champions league every year now to being bottom of a europa league section . the downsizing at the club over the last few years has been alarming and you can see by the crowds dwindling at home games . just think the club needs gutted from top to bottom .
