Walking back from the Post Office this morning, I saw 4 Carrion Crows attacking a Buzzard directly above me. I stood watching for about 10mins, then directly in front of me, a female Sparrowhawk flew into a flock of Pigeons and had herself a meal. I was absolutely thrilled all this happened in front of me, and above me. Made for a great morning walk.

so basically you just stood there watching the murderous mayhem unfold, you
didnt think to phone the scottish bird protection agency so they could have
responded asap with some birdie sounding whistles and a loaf of stale bread
    and calm the situation down.

no, you and many others on here get a real hard on watching what is basically
    bird on bird action/snuff movie.

    i * despair sometimes.

we are not all perfect, jeez not even me sometimes. last april i drowned a cat
cause it ate all but one of the young birds from the nest which was in my back garden. i made this terranium thingy with a heat lamp and everything
so i could raise it as one of my one.

    i called him jorge.....

it didnt end well though cause when the footy was on he would always go
    cheepcheep cheepcheep, so * annoying.

it stopped when i had enough and hit him with a rolled up copy of
    good housekeeping.

that must have been superb. Only seen a Chough twice. Once in Helensburgh and the other in Vane Farm RSPB Reserve. stunning birds. with one thing and another I've had a quite few weeks, but I've noticed recently there's a alot of Starlings around my house. Going out is sometimes like a scene from Hitchcock;s 'The Birds'.

Yesterday at work I saw a Grey Squirrel , and about 100 yards on there was a Red Squirrel . Also spotted a Kestrel hovering above a hedgerow , and a Hedgehog crossing the road . Lots around rural Angus for the keen wildlife spotter :50:

Your wee fox sounds like my wee fox. If I don't put anything down for it, he/she follows me up the path a bit hoping for something. Need to make sure I take something out or it every night now when I walk the dog.

Actually think it's a mum and her young one. Thought there was just one to start with but sure it's two different foxes I've been seeing.

Don't know why folk in an urban environment have a problem with them.

They are beautiful animals. Probably my favourite, although wouldn't fancy meeting one :smiley-laughing002:

Had one at the safari park over here, but it passed away :54:

Went out walking on Saturday morning , and although it was misty I managed to see two Pied Woodpeckers . They were on a telegraph pole and flew off when I approached . I also heard lots of barking across the vale . I reckon it was Huskie racing ( Sleds with wheels ) as I heard a P.A. system and saw what looked like a tented village . A few years ago , I did see all that type of action going ahead in a similar location . But sadly , it was too dense to make out finer details etc .

Driving through Arizona this week I seen a coyote run across the road in front of us. Also a few elk and deer hanging around. At the grand Canyon along the trail we spotted what I think was tarantula or a really big and hairy spider of sorts. lots of geckos as well and when I was in typhoon lagoon in Florida last week, a snake was on the path for one of the ques for the slides.

Also seen a lot of dead animals beside the Highway all over the states which is shocking, seen quite a few deer and one coyote as well as smaller animals. They really should fence the busier highways so this cant happen. They do it in Canada to an extent and it works, ive never seen dead animals anywhere to the extent I did driving around Arizona/Utah over 4 days

Parakeet, whole flock of them, in Victoria park. Think they were originally pets in London and managed to escape and breed like wildfire. Noisy *
