He has a choice between his demands and playing for celtic and his actions will tell us what he values most.

I have not said he has no rights to refuse the offer but you don't always get what you want and sometimes you have to lower your demands if you want something.

His touch and vision are both very good . They way he can take the ball into feet or on the half turn and make space for a hot or a pass is one of his best abilities. You think he scored 70 goals here without having touch or vision ? " slowing the game down " is such a lazy cliche that has been thrown about on here that prove to me you know little about football and struggle to formulate your own opinions on players. He doesn't slow the game down at all, the game is already slow as * 90% of the time in the spl as we try to penetrate a wall of ten players .

    I think Commons will stay.
Reading the DR a couple of days ago there was an article from his wife who told friends that they were to give the family a couple more years before thinking of moving.
This was supposedly due to the Charity she set up and also her daughter going to school for first time in Scotland.

That kind of thing can put a little pressure on him to stay.

But if it's a choice between what's right for his family and what he personally wants to do because he wants to play for a club he loves he'd be a selfish * to value himself over his family.

    Hence, unreasonable.

Not yet. He still has the cheek to score goals for Celtic. Disgusting, eh?

If we believe the rumours its not about the money but about the length of contract.
Club are meant to be offering a year extra but he wants two.

I don't see the club saying..hey we want you to stay for another year as being unreasonable.
Plenty others have signed up for extra year in the past.

It is about the length of time. Yes but it could be reasonable for plenty of others. The way Commons will see it is he's putting his family first.

Do you not think that's a reasonable thing for a father to do?

I think this just shows how skint we are. Tbf to Celtic, we could be offloading Van Dijk for cash but they know that will rile the fans. I can't see him wanting an extra 10k a week or so, probably max 3/4k. I want him here for another 2 years. He's one of our best players fs.

Dunno if its been mentioned or not but I read this Sunday was the seventh anniversary of Commons losing his daughter. Hopefully be a big show of support for him.

Aye, his Mrs was talking about it.

Hope to see it to, Commons is one of a few in recent years who I think had made a real connection to us as a club, with what we're about. I hope we show him that that's appreciated.

Would rather see a big banner showing support for commons than any kind of banner about them. I said it before, a lot of the stuff Commons and his wife has done gets by and large ignored by the supporters of this club.

We can all disagree about how good a player he is and whether he should get a 2 year deal, but dont think we can argue that him and his wife, family , have been brilliant ambassadors for the club and has kept the charitable arm of Celtic in good light too.
    Deserves some plaudits. :shamrock::celt_2:

He would be a guaranteed starter at the weekend for me, it may very well come down to a deflected shot from 30 yards to win the match.

I wanted him to try that type of speculative effort more often against Motherwell before we broke the deadlock. The Huns will set up in a similar fashion with 2 banks of 4 playing close to one another and instead of going side to side with little penetration we would be better served at least getting attempts in on goal.

I am sure most Celtic players loved a goal against Rangers , it doesn't mean they will score against Sevco or any other team from that part of the city . Commons will probably play on Sunday and if he scores and we win , we will be as delighted for him as for anyone else . Is Lisa Hague his wife or partner ?

By that he means that he scored regularly against them.

Where is the talk of him wanting more money (a wage increase) coming from?

I imagine it's a similar story with ledley, where we're trying to offer him a few grand off his winding down contract..

Reports suggest its about him wanting two years and we are offering 1 year.

Have you got proof we offered ledley less money....?

If commons is not in ronnys plans past next summer are people happy for the player to maybe sit on the bench for 18 months after we get new players in.
