    Hey bhoys and ghirls

I'm moving to London in May and need to find a room somewhere. Not too bothered where.

Thought I would check in here to see if anyone could help

    Cheers!

    Best of luck mate!

I don't live nor know anyone that does in London but your best bet would maybe be a room-letting site till you get on your feet.

I live in London, be prepared to spend a fortune renting. For an average size room in a shared house in zones 1/2/3 you will be looking at £700 a month for a decent place.

Spare room is a good place to start

Try looking at sydenham bud,not an expensive part of london(south east) and only 15 minutes from central london (victoria) with frequent over head trains, plus a good celtic shop in the area..

Another is croydon, quite far out but you'll get your moneys worth and the train system into central london is excellent, takes 18 minutes and 2 stops clapham junction and victoria.. Also runs all night due to trains going to gatwick airport..

My mate was paying £1400 (including bills) and sharing with 4 other folk for a place in Camden. Mental. Given that his monthly wage was £1600, it was lucky his folks were rich.

Some areas of England are very cheap.

The prices of property in London is silly, especially considering the wages.

Rightmove and Zoopla are good places to look mate. As has been said already though, it's very expensive, you'll be lucky to get anywhere for under £700pm in zones 1 or 2.
