And also - Spartak don't even have any major tour operator arranging overseas tours for their fans. It's a shame, but everyone is on one's own.
There have also been quite a few visa refusals (due appararently to the shambles which uk-russian relations sadly appear to be right now).
But I am still hoping for a few hundred vociferous lads over there, cheering on the team on a (well, how should I word it? would using "quality" rather than "triumphant" lol be okay?) European night out.

To be serious, the Parkhead atmosphere must be unparalleled, I believe. Could be the best there is in the world on the finest of nights. A really big thing, according to what you read in the Russian papers. To judge from the interviews, the Spartak manager has been telling the boys to brace themselves up for what's in store at Paradise.
But (understandably) only so as to turn it into * for the hosts.
PS. I remember about as much hoopla about the atmosphere at the Millenium stadium where Russia was to play a decisive qualifier a few years back. Can't remember seeing Wales at the finals after that game though.

Yeah its sad that the relationship between the wo is as bad as it is. Never the less you will be guaranteed a QUALITY European night out all right. I cant see anyone being TRIUMPHANT except Celtic though.:86:

could someone of you local lads confirm that the quickest way to get to celtic park from prestwick airport is to get a train to central station and then a train to dalmarnock? im in the middle of booking everything and i cant leave it to any later. i only got abt 2 hours in between my flight arrival and the game. and is it easy to find a ticket office for away fans at parkhead? and also whats the price of a taxi ride to clyde street from the ground?
sorry for the off topic questions.
    thx.

    (cheers, Kepi)

Once you arrive at Prestwick airport you need to get on a train to Glasgow Central Station. The trains run every 30 minutes so if you are getting off your flight at 17.00 you could make the 17.30 train to Glasgow. Border control will not be very strict. If you miss the 17.30 train you can wait for the next one at 18.00.

The train from Prestwick takes about 45 minutes so if you get the 17.30 you should arrive in the city at 18.15. When you arrive at Central Station exit via the main entrance of the station. As you come outside look directly across the street there will be a taxi rank (a line in which to wait for travel). You may have to wait 10 minutes or so for a taxi. That should mean it will be around 18.30 when you're on your way to Parkhead. The taxi should take no more than 25 minutes so you'll be there at the latest at 19.00. To get your ticket for the match I presume you just purchase it at as you go into the stadium. If not you will find it at the 'Ticket Office' at the front of the stadium.

Hopefully that helps. Enjoy your visit to Paradise. :50:

Also the taxi will cost you no more than £10 to get from the train station to the stadium.

No Preswick is not the same. Glasgow International airport is Glasgow airport which is the one you want to be landing it if you are coming to Glasgow for the game.

I think Cherchesov should start with 2 strikers (Pavluchenko and Welliton) to continue with Spartak usual scheme despite playing in such a non-friendly stadium with very impressive support. I am sure that Spartak has very good chances if it will not play defensively. In this case it may be two scenarios for the start of the game: both teams play offensive football and then Spartak have a good chances to score first, or Celtic go to the deep defence and wait for counterstrikes. I dont think Celtic will run to score from the beginning, becouse they know well Spartak and know that offensively it is very skillful team and can use conterattacks 100%

    Spartak

    Shishkin Stranzl Kovac Shoava

    Bystrov Titov Mocart Torbinsky

    Welliton Pavluchenko

    GO SPARTAK

    Celtic 1 - 2 Spartak

Spartak Fun - are you from NY City?
My prediction 2:2, if CFC will not play hands and referee will be sober and w/out prejudice. :)

Nothing personal, we just confident, we do not think about what opposing team will do, CFC is just getting into its season.

celts are in form lug you aint,60,000 screaming them on you aint gonna feel so confident we've seen off bigger teams than spartak and a big part of its due to the support,i've seen world class players crumble under the pressure guys from teams like juve, man utd, barca, porto and theres just too many more to mention.
