    I never get why people here wana slag the Catholic Church, you're just givin proddies and other various * a helpin hand. It's got problems, and it's all a bunch of fairytale nonsense, but just shut the * up and go with it. We're all Catholic, we all the love the RA, now shut the * up.

    Jesus was at it aswell but, * could turn stuff into fish, bread and wine yet * off knowing theyd be starving again? and could heal the blind etc but again never gave a * about blind people once he was dead?

    I don't mean to be rude, North, but you're going to wipe the floor with anyone here in a theological discussion, so I'd rather avoid it tonight. My brain's melted.

    I think it's the Church's primary purpose to help those in need. You're probably going to tell me I'm wrong - I seem to be wrong in every other thread that the Church is mentioned in. I'm not really concerned with whether it's hypocritical or not but I think it's perverse to have such wealth when children are dying from starvation and from a lack of clean drinking water, NGO or not. Guide people to eternal salvation, by all means, but help their suffering here.

    The reason Pope Francis has won so many admirers outside of the Church is his modesty and his charity.
