Stan Petrov for Captain; other suggestions?

I'm sure we're all shocked at Jackie's mistreetment and susequent departure, not only have we lost a model pro, but our captain as well. With this in mind I suggest Stan Petrov for the Captain's armband. Petrov has grown into our main heartbeat in midfield, and it was clear for everyone to see at Motherwell what he thought about some of the player's commitment and some dubious decisions by our Hun Friendly linesman. It might also tempt Stan into staying longer at CP if he was given the extra responsability, he's handled it for his national team for years. Any other suggestions?

 

definetly i want to see petrov as captain now.

i cant think of anyone that deserves it more. he is a true celt.

 

It would be great if Stan got captain, he deserves it.

 

Would love Stan to be captain, and he has a little experience as cpatain of Bulagaria also. He has given us his all for years and is one of our best players.

Another contender could be Sutty.

 

I would like to see Lennon pick up the captains armband, hes next in line anyway, then again he wont be along for long.... Thommo seems to try and keep the players going he might be in the running?

 

Difficult...Lenny or Stan? I think Lennon edges it for me.

I would nominate Stilian and Lenny for the captains armband. Lenny has a great influence on the team and is commited to his childhood heroes. Stilian is the captain of Bulgaria and is the NOW the longest serving celt in the squad.
(Note the word "NOW")
Another suggestion for the captaincy at Celtic in the future would be John Kennedy. This guy captained the U21's and I can see the man captaining Scotland in the future.

 

Stan the man gets my vote

 

With all the nonsense going on at the club and speculation linking Stan with a move away, will he be here to even take over as captain??? Do you not think some of the better players we have left such as Stan might be looking for a move??

I wouldn't ask Gordon Strachan who he'll give it to, he'll probably be on holiday again.

 

Sutton for me....hes a * great player and knows what he's doing..

Petrov is too patchy and Lennon is too *...

Sutton...he;'s the man for the job!!

 

no way should petrov get it he probably the best player in the spl IMO but he's never a captain.

Sutton would be a good choice but lets be honest how many games does he miss a season with injury.

Neil Lennon for me.

 

Lennon for me if he stays, said on sky sports there that he might not sign now and that he's on holiday considering the terms of the contract.

 

Petrov would be the perfect captain. He is a winner and a leader. I could see him been the Celtic captain for the next 10 years wheras Lennon only has another year in him at most.
