Like it or not, they're considered one of the better teams in international football by most.

I don't think he would be. The media made their feelings very clear on Joe Hart when he was put back in goals for the friendly with Germany after Forster played against Chile.

Forster was ridiculed for conceding two goals that he had no chance with, then they could praise Hart highly enough when he made a few routine saves against the Germans. Hart will always be England's No1 in my opinion, unless they appoint a manager with a backbone.

So are Holland. It hasn't stopped them picking players that have played in Scotland before though.

 Yes but I don’t doubt that much of that ridicule was because he plays his football in Scotland. In fact, I am sure one of the tabloids made a jibe about that on their backpage the day after the game.

That's why I said he'd be number one by the end of next season. I don't see Woy being kept on after the World Cup.

I don't think it would have mattered where he played to be honest. The media have an obsession over Hart. Who has made more mistakes on the big stage than Forster has. If they are so obsessed about being tested against the very best, why not compare their form in the CL?

Look, getting back to the Shilton article. He's not said anything that we didn't already know, or that Forster himself most likely doesn't know.

If you play in Scotland in this day & age, you've got next to no chance of carving a career with England out for yourself.

No one down there cares that we play in the Champions League group stages virtually every year.

 The headline the next day read "You can't rely on a keeper who comes from Scotland'.

They clearly don’t think, due to their arrogance and superiority complex, that it is acceptable for a player plying his trade in this country to be playing for England and will use this to demean a player.

If that was the actual headline, then it's ridiculous. If Forster came from Scotland he wouldn't be playing for England, would he?

Still, I doubt you'd see a goalkeeper who plys his trade in somewhere like Sweden, Norway, Denmark or the like being considered for the England team, so it's nothing personal.

Been a Long time since I posted.

Being an Englishman I have to confess the attitude down in England is Arrogant and Ignorant when it comes to the Scottish leagues. Heads up their own arses about the Premier league being the best league in the world etc. When did and English premier League team manage to buy the current best footballer in the world? NEVER I THINK. How many * premier league games are shown on sky. Unfortunately until attitudes change it will always be this way. Frazer is still by far the best English keeper but as no one watches the games they don't see he makes a couple of great saves to keep a clean sheet. Plus goes to show his concentration is right up there.
Even the other english keepers are dimissing FF. Ben foster for instance reckons he is No2 and John hopeless Ruddy has come out and said that Hart and Ben Foster are going and he is probably 3rd choice. Both of these keepers are hopeless but in BF's case he has the England managers back up having played for hime for many years, so he will defo be going to Brazil.

Sat in the pub the other day having a conversation about current English premier players. The convo got onto best keepers and you know that the general consensus was that the most consistant at the moment were DAVID MARSHALL AND ARTUR BORUC. I did point out they were both old celtic players and deemed not good enough for the SPL:smiley-laughing002:
Oh and Ki was picked out as one of the best midfield players at the moment.
Again I couldn't wait to mention he's good but couldn't hack it in the SPL so went to a lesser league.

Any how Bhoys and Ghirls, keep fighting the fight.

Not concerned by this "advice". Delighted we have Forster playing for us, has kept us in European games over his time with us.
If he does leave, we will get a large fee, and hopefully he gets a move to a club playing European football.
Hope john park has identified his replacement.

he's already a gonner. He's gonna be leaving in the summer regardless. As long as the media keep him in the lime light, we'll get good money for him. The way I see it, at leaast people are taking notice of him.

I can honestly say, without bias, that Ben Forster & John Ruddy are not in the same league as Forster.

The gulf in the Premier League is vast now. The bottom 10 would be as well playing in a different league. A top 8 club won't sign Forster because he plays in Scotland. If he leaves, he'll be fighting relegation. If that's a price he's willing to pay to play in A LEAGUE, not even for a particular club, then he can * off. Hooper & Ledley have shown the extent of their ambitions & their careers will never reach the heights they reached here. You can knock Scottish football all you like but players like Ledley & Hooper (coming from Scunthorpe United & Cardiff City) would never have tasted Champions League football and reached the Last 16 had they not played for Celtic. Celtic take average players, give them everything and are rewarded by their jumping ship to * non-entities like Crystal Palace & Norwich City. * sickens me.

there is a * of a lot of * teams in the english premier league though,with us playing champions league we get to play aganst 3 top sides , in the EPL you get to play against maybe 6.not really a vast difference
last years champions league indicated even with the hundreds of millions spent ,the EPL isnt as hot as some make it out to be,if forster does leave id rather see him in spain or germany

Shilton obviously thinks Forester is good enough or he would not have mentioned him. So in reality what he is saying can be simplified to if you are good enough to play for England you will not get picked unless you play in the EPL.
