Don't know if this will be the right section for this but....

At the moment I have basic Sky with Sky Broadband.

I want - Sky Sports, Sky Movies, BT Sports.

What is the best way to go about this, should I cancel Sky Broadband and switch to BT Broadband to get free BT Sports, then just upgrade my Sky package or is there a cheaper way ?

Any help would be great, cheers!:celt_2:

Connect your PC to your TV and get them free on streams is the cheapest way.

Get the cheapest unlimited broadband and get yourself hooked up to one of those dodgy sky boxes

Should work out about £20 a month for everything.

I've had years of dodgy boxes, streams and every other pirated way of getting access to TV and in particular Celtic games. None have ever and will ever be as good or intuitive, as reliable or simply as easy to use as plain old SKY and paying the money for it.

I have everything on SKY barring Movies, BT phone, broadband Infinity unlimited and subsequently BT Sports for nothing - it costs 60 odd quid a month and I don't grudge it for a second. In fact I'm glad I have it every time I can't get to Parkhead and have to watch a * pixelated stream that keeps dropping off. It'll be even better when the Champions League switches over to BT.

Of course nothing can compete with the service sky gives and at 60 odd pound a month for what you say you are getting that's a good price.I couldn't afford to pay approx £800-£1000 a year for that service.I am more than happy however to pay a £25. subscription for the year which includes sky movies and all the sports chanels including setanta which shows a epl game at 3pm on a saturday(not that i see it as i work saturdays). The picture is the same as if i was watching through a sky box.Yes it might freeze now and again(about 30 secs twice on the man city v chelsea game on monday) but i can put up with that.

Hi mate, I'm coming to the end of a half price deal with Sky which is going to see my costs go up dramtically to continue with my current package. Quick question; does this have record and playback functionality this box? (like a sky+ box).

If it does I think I may well be joining you in using it.

Cool, so it's just a case of buying an external hard drive and then the record option is available?

Don't think I'll be with sky much longer! Would be grateful if you could PM a link to the server you are signed up with if you can.
