Erik is right * me he's not saying Griff is * or out but he does miss what most would consider easy chances ones he should be scoring, however all strikers miss but at times I just feel Griff is better when hes under pressure and shooting rather than when he has time he seems to complicate things too much as miss. I'm not complaining because he scored 40 last season and is our best striker makes great runs and will bag at 25 a season minimum in SPL but if he was a little more clinical he would be surpassing that 40 goal mark easy he is a little shaky when 1 on 1 at times but as said cant slag him off too much as he won us league last year. Keep up good work Griff!

Hes shocking 1 on 1 far too much, that offside one that was saved and then that one with around 10 minuts to go.

When he gets through like that he panicks and leathers it all the time, he must have missed about 20-30 chances like that for us. The King of Kings would always do a wee dummy and round the keeper or * the keeper, needs to relax in those situations and not rush a shot.

He does need to work on the clinical side of his game, don't mind him creating shitloads of chances and missing them and taking some in the SPFL but in Europe, to take on the mantle of a great striker for us, he needs to have that mentality that if he gets a chance he'll take it.

Similar to how he played against Malmo at home last season. You can't argue with his goal record but it's something he can do to take himself to the next level.

Him and dembele have the makings of an excellent partnership.

Aye I think he just rushes shots when he is 1 on 1 and seems to most of the time blast it right at the keeper.

He should watch Larsson and Hoopers goals and remember when he gets the chance to slow down and let the keeper make the mistake. Hooper seemed to slot away 90% of his 1 on 1s and Larsson also barely missed any. Griffiths is lucky if he scores 20% of his.

Couldn't agree more. He definitely get's flustered and tends to almost always strike it right down the keeper's throat..

Has a lot more composure outside the box with less time to think about thing's. Should work on just taking a second to compose and settle himself, and throw the keeper..

This is it. People saying "well he scored 40 last season what are you wanting?"

He gets away with it in Scotland because of the number of chances he gets, but in Europe even against the likes of Malmo and Molde, he'll only maybe get 2 or 3 chances. He has to be more clinical in those games. Aye he scored 2 against Malmo last season, but he missed about 3 sitters against Ajax and was non-existent in 75% of our EL matches.

I still don't have confidence in him to put away those 1 on 1 opportunities on a regular basis.

Aye there was another one too in the 2nd half where someone played a ball over the top and he headered it over the bar when he could have chested it down and had a shot or had he chested it down he could have rolled it to Dembele for a tap in. I noticed he was fuming that he missed that probably thinking he should have took the ball down but he just instictively seems to shoot/header any time he can.

Touch and finish for his goal were outstanding. Still questionable at one on ones, seems when he has more time his brain goes.

Love him though just hope he sorts that out in Europe and can take his game to a new level.

My point about the Malmo game is that's when I've seen him have that attitude in Europe. He knew he had to score, he knew he was taking those chances that came his way. That header wasn't even a half chance.

That's what we need in Europe. He'll know that himself. Don't think it's an ability issue, it's in his head. We'll see how he goes.

There's a difference between the way Dev put it (needs to elevate his game to reach the next level, to the negative, dour spin you're putting on Griffiths. Case in bold up there.

I think people are being overly defensive of Griffiths. Fact is he misses lots of chances even if he makes them himself. It's frustrating because it seems like he could easily be a much bigger player for us than he is now.

Think with Griffiths and Dembele we have 2 good all round strikers, but we could still do with adding an out and out poacher. The kind of guy you can bring on and if given one chance he'll score it. Leigh seems to be better at sticking away the difficult chances, good goal tonight.

No if anything people are overly critical, there was a point tonight when Griffiths went down after getting up from being injured and fans round me were talking and it was panic, that tells you how critical this wee guy has become

Needs to start scoring the 1v1s. I can't remember the last time he was clear on goal and just sloted it in
