Sad to hear he's fallen on hard times. Some people are just plain skint and never had the privilege of playing professional football or playing for Celtic though, so he could be worse off.

Used to run around singing his name as a kid while playing football. Shame to see such a player fall on hard times.

Loved the guy as a player and wished he had stayed longer but why is it people who were with us for "5 minutes" nearly 18 years ago always pop up with hard luck stories in the papers and bring out books with them in their Celtic strips when they've also played for umpteen other clubs.

Never had any sympathy for people who have earned millions being skint.

Guy had big depression whilst with us. Think it was due to his wife refusing to move the family to Glasgow, if I remember right. Obviously this lends itself to his bad judgements. Maybe relying too much on people he thought he could trust. Got to feel sorry for him. Another story of when the gravy stops flowing! Hope he turns it around!:50:

    Jorge who??
Oh yeah, I remember him now, at the same time as him and the other badge kisser DiCanio were * off to pastures new, a real Celtic legend in the name of Paul Mcstay was having to finish his career through injury.

Tough * Jorge, you made your bed, you lie in it.

Someone should tell him that even if he does get a job at Celtic he isn't guaranteed the living wage.

He'd be better off trying to get a job in a call centre or something.

Harsh words for a man who gave his all while he was here and was a goal scoring phenomenon. He's still a Celtic fan to this day! Sad to hear Celtic fans slagging him on like that. Anyways, he had mental health issues. That is why he left. His game after he left Celtic was never the same again. And I really believe that Di Canio was pushed out by the Bunnet. Sure he wanted a wage rise but he was a good player and he deserved one. He wasnt like Hooijdonk who just wanted out of the club. We apparently weren't good enough for him. Anyways Cadete and Di Canio will always get my backing. Good players and very good people. Cadete probably had some idiot financial advisor pish his money away. It happens to a lot of stars with short careers.

Good players Jorge, but * "badge kissers" all the same. Bet he's not in the papers where Celta Vigo play.

Funny thing when we signed Cadette is that l thought it was Richard Cadette from Falkirk. :smiley-laughing002:

One from an era of change at CP!

I wouldn't trust any of the three amigos as far as you could throw them: Cadete you might recall, if your as auld as me, came to CP with baggage: financial wrangling they call it with his old club. As the recipients of the talent we were destined to overlook such issues, but we ended up having hassle nonetheless.
Paulo and Pierre went on to show their true colours as the kind of people who don't do well when working with other people: Fergus was right.

Love Cadete, I'd rather see him play up front again than most of the name's we're linked with at the minute.

    short careers my erse......

most players get 15yrs in football .. then they can be a pundit, commentator, sports writer, columnist, after dinner speaker, play in legends games, coach, manage, scout, or shocking as it may sound CHANGE careers...people in all walks of life change careers all the time

players are over paid for what they actually contribute to society/mankind.. if they have to take a normal job when they quit the game why should fans care. Did any player ever send fans money when supporters lost savings etc ?

Good player but if he has no footballing friends who want to help then maybe he should look at why that is...

And there was I thinking that when one changed jobs that the world didn't owe them a living. Like anyone else, the socks need to be pulled up, the finger removed from the nether region and a fire lit under the soles. He is, relatively speaking, still a young man.

No great sympathy from me, he had a habit of not seeing out contracts and going in the huff, just as he did at Celtic.

I also think he has an undeserved 'hero status' amongst fans, bearing in mind he never scored an old firm or European goal in his one and only full season.

He scored against rangers and it was wrongfully called offside, not his fault :56::50:

The hero status comes purely from the dynamic period of change that ushered in the end of the period where Rankers broke the rules to buy success.

Any starlet from that time will be remembered. He was after all not expected to do so much to get noticed in a mediocre league. Same applies to Pierre and Paulo.

Add that to a catchy tune and you have a legend.

No doubt he was a talented player. I was there. I watched him score. I witnessed the non-goal. But we make more of that than is necessary. We were cheated consistently, not just against the nameless ones.
