Ach I'm clutching at straws here. I just like him and I'm dying for him to get back to some good form.

Of course there must be, otherwise Kayal would have been given a run of games in the team. The fact is though, right now, Johansen doesn't merit a starting slot, he has bad a very poor start to the season. We have another centre mid in Kayal who has had a pretty good start whenever he has played. Surely it would make sense to put Kayal in, and maybe give Johansen a kick up the *. Cause he certainly needs it at the minute. Izaguirre had a poor run of games, but we literally have no other options really for that position, it's not the same with central midfield however.

Lawwell revealed he had discussed Deila with Stefan Johansen, the midfielder who signed for Celtic from Stromgodset in January. “When Ronny’s name came up in the process, I asked about him and Stefan said he was absolutely fantastic,” said the chief executive.

“He also made it clear that Ronny had done a lot for him,” added Lawwell. “And I’m sure he’s a pretty happy young man this morning when he’s heard that we’d done the deal with Ronny.”

His form is a worry and we lack any real depth or class in this area..

Charlie is not the answer.. Kayal and Bitton more right sided with limited ability.

Even Brown, who no doubt makes us a better team displays poor passing.

In the system Deila favours those two midfielders need to be pretty special as they hold the key.. Defo an area we need to strengthen !

Even then, your suggestion that this is why he won't get dropped is still ridiculous.

It will be a huge reason behind his decisions and to suggest otherwise would be ignorance at the highest order. Ronny probably feels he owes it massively to Johansen that he's in the job in the first place, of course this will have a huge bearing on his selection despite his form.

And I wasn't suggesting that's the ONLY reason, of course be together at Stromsgodset will be another but this is a massive reason imo. To think Johansen cost us a second goal in Maribor as well which would probably have sealed CL football, the irony.

:56: Ok you're right. You've convinced me because to think otherwise would make me the highest order of ignorant. Come off it. You're actually suggesting that a professional football manager is selecting a player that is in poor form, because he feels he owes him?

Deila is the boss and I'm sure he feels that he got where he is because of his own hard work. If anything, Johansen owes him for taking a player that wasn't performing and giving him the chance that made him the Norwegian player of the year and earning him his big move to us. To suggest otherwise would be ignorance of the highest order.

Well he hasn't exactly been in good form the last month or so or even the season in general for that matter. So why do you think he justifies his continual selection?

He's about the only player that can thread the ball through with amazing accuracy, Can see a chance that most would miss or not have the ability to pull off.

On his game he is fantastic, He's just not had a great game for a while but he still creates chances.

Maybe he's struggling with the 4-2-3-1 system?

With most of the midfielders ahead of him he seem to find it hard to pick out a pass.

In the domestic games the final third is saturated with our players and 10 defenders and needs accurate passing don't think him or Broonie posses this abiltiy..

Or maybe too much is made of systems!

For no other reason than ronny trusts and rates him..

Why would he do a pals act to.* his own career here,.if we were to go and lose 3iar from now and Johansen played in all then ronny would be sacked and then what? For his pals act :56:
I don't rate Johansen but i'm sure and hope it's not.for the reasons your giving..

He bought him, made him and into a player of the year title winner..

However.much.i.disagree with his choice, thats how he's looking at it..

What was the last chance that he created that we converted?

As far as I'm concerned, Kayal and Biton should be getting game time ahead of him to see what they can do because Johansen has now had enough opportunities.

You're right he isn't in good form, but perhaps Ronny is picking him because he trusts him to give 100% every time he plays? Maybe it's because Ronny knows him well and knows what a good player he can be from their time together previously. Maybe he wants Johansen to get out of this slump as much as I do and is trying to play him through it. Maybe he thinks the two Israeli boys are *. Maybe he loves Palestine.

I could come up with any old * rather than some conspiracy. Do you think Johansen tells him which team to pick and when he's allowed to ride his girlfriend?

Johansen has already cost us and Ronny CL fitba and millions of pounds in the process. I'd say that's a pretty big * up.

You can't pin that on one player, no matter how much you would like to.

I really fear for Johansen becoming a scape goat soon.
