That's the biggest thing I notice about him too. I find it hard to warm to players like that. I'm hoping he's just short of confidence and that he'll become more of a presence on the field once he gets a few good performances under his belt.

Had to click onto the DR website for this(disgusted with myself) exert from the Paatelainen interview.

"Paatelainen is convinced the Parkhead punters and boss Neil Lennon will be rewarded for their patience if they continue to stick by the hitman.

The former Dundee United, Aberdeen and Hibs striker revealed Pukki’s quiet persona means it takes time for him to settle. Paatelainen said: “Teemu has every single attribute you need as a striker, except perhaps physical strength.

“He has everything else but it takes a wee while for him to blossom.

“What has happened at Celtic is something we have seen before with Teemu. He was a very young guy when he went to Sevilla and got into the first team and it never happened so he came back to Finland and HJK Helsinki.

“It took him quite a long period to really get going.

“People were scratching their heads and saying, ‘He should cut it in the Finnish League no bother and he’s not doing it’.

“But after a period when he began to feel comfortable in the HJK set-up he couldn’t stop scoring and that’s what got him his chance at Schalke.

“Like Sevilla he never really got his chance to play enough to make him feel comfortable with his position when he got to Germany.

“When I took Teemu into the national team it took him a year. I was scratching my head, wondering how to get the best from him.

“Then I realised he might be the type of character who needs time to really settle in and feel at home with his job before you see the best of him.

“Once he started producing he’s never looked back. He’s been fantastic for me. He has scored important goals and he’s confident. I realise you don’t get a year at Celtic. At a great club like that you need to produce quickly.

“But my experiences tell me he’ll do terrific for them when he feels fully at home.

“With a little more patience I can see he will score loads of goals and be a real success for Celtic.

“It is all about confidence. Hopefully it won’t take too long.”

Confidence has a big say in how we do things even in our on normal lives. While sometimes a players demeanour can be misleading; prime example being Berbatov(guy looks so disinterested.Yet he oozes class and a great ability/skill level, allied with confidence).

He was sold by Shalke as he had no hope of a first team place there.

To be honest its easy to see why, the sheer amount of times he gives away the ball is a joke not to mention his unprolific look in front of goal.

He looks at this point utter * but I voted to try till the end of the season and will be happy to be proven wrong.

Always puzzled by comments like "I like him cos he works hard" as if that somehow justifies a first team place and an enormous salary

Put him on the bench and give Balde the start, lets see how Pukki does in the role reversal with him getting the 5-10 minute cameos

There's definitely more to come from Pukki and hopefully we'll start to see it soon. I think more time is needed to properly judge him.

Only 28 goals behind Hooper's total for last season, aye Hooper might just pip him.

I have said from the very beginning he would not make the grade....check his scoring record with other clubs it's pathetic - someone made a huge mistake on this signing...

i think a decent player and will come good

as has been said our own setup and the scottish teams wall that they play against us make it very hard for him at the spear of our attack to find any space to do anything

our counter attacking is crap also and our play is so slow

just look how hard all of our strikers are finding it he is not alone

we find it very hard to break sides down as we lack creativity, we don't play a big striker so them crosses izzy throws in lead to nothing

our creativity in central midfield is poor

he wasn't a like for like replacement for hooper, finboggason was but we weren't gonna pay £5-6m him and the club panicked because of the champions league and bought the next best one on the scouting list

we need to learn to suck spl teams onto us to create space and hit them on the break

"At a club like this, you are expected to be under scrutiny. Disappointed with my goal return. But on the other hand, I haven't been missing chances. I haven't had many. The whole team needs to play better football."- Anthony Stokes.

I believe Kris Commons has re-iterated this fact as well?

The bhoy is not robust enough for Scottish football .
I wish somebody would bid for him and take him off our hands .

I don't think so he is a big lad and should be giving defenders a hard time physically but he is very quiet and meek.
He should be like Hartson and Sutton and get stuck into them .

Seriosuly there is a big size difference between those guys, Pukki is no where them and does not posses the phyiscal frame to do what they did
